IS IT TRUE we hear the extremely talented and popular General Manager Jason Gregorec is leaving Tropicana-Evansville on May 31, 2015? … Mr. Gregorec is leaving Tropicana-Evansville just after he mastermind the move to bring Tropicana on dry land?  …he brought great new energy, enthusiasm and a willingness to promote new ideas and exciting changes to Tropicana?  …Jason shall be missed and we wish him only the best in his next venture?

IS IT TRUE we just notice that the Courier and Press at high noon posted that Jason Gregorec is leaving Tropicana at the end of the month?  …we are happy that they continue to read the CCO for ‘Breaking News”?

IS IT TRUE our sources made an error when they alleged the percentages of the Homestead Tax Credits that have been given to us the past few years were: 2014-6.66%, 2013-6.16%, and 2012-7.05%?  … we got tired of waiting for the City Controller Russ Lloyd , Jr to share some light if  the above figures are correct or not?  … we contacted the Vanderburgh County Auditor office to see if our published Homestead Tax Credit percentages were correct?  …we found out that our sources were wrong?  …according to the Vanderburgh County Auditors  office the correct Homestead Tax Credit percentage  are: 2012-6.15, 2013-6.65 and 2014-6.21?  …we now wait to hear from the Mayor and  City Council Finance Chairman if a 8% Homestead Tax increase was recommend and approved for 2012 to 2014?

IS IT TRUE  we were informed by a couple of Evansville Fireman that advertising is being allowed to be printed on the back of an emergency vehicle?  …we checked out their complaints and found indeed they are correct?  …the advertised message printed on the back of a Fire Department SUV vehicle is “Proudly Supporting the Evansville Fire Department and our Community”?  …that this advertisement is printed on the back of Fire Department SUV vehicle #13-09? …could it be possible that this vehicle was donated to the fire  department by the auto dealership in lieu of advertising?  …we wonder what our readers think about this practice?

IS IT TRUE we have also have been informed by the same Firefighters that at the downtown Fire Station #1,  select fireman are allowed to do maintenance and major repairs to their personal vehicles inside the Rescue Squad storage building? …we wonder what our readers think about the policy of  allowing Fireman fixing their personal vehicle on city time, city property?

IS IT TRUE that Waco Texas police asked rival motorcycle gangs on Tuesday to put aside their differences after a weekend brawl at a Waco restaurant?  … the brawl left nine people dead and 18 injured, that led to the police calling for a halt to the carnage and threats of revenge attacks?   …we wonder why the local WACO police keep babying these thugs and finally stop trying to be nice to them?  …do your job and lock ‘em up?

IS IT TRUE on Monday evening at the City Council meeting, we observed citizens upset about funds for animal care not being accounted for? …we were surprised that some citizens thought City Council was responsible for the problem?  …the person who is totally responsible for this lack of accountability problem is none other than City Controller, Russ Lloyd,  Jr?

  1. It’s like the movie “Idiocracy” where there are corporate logos on just about everything you can imagine.

Re: biker brawl. Notice very different tone to fox news’ coverage of this violence.

    • Since you seem to be a regular viewer of Fox News, fill us in on their “tone” of coverage of the Waco violence.

  2. One would have thought that the top story in today’s C&P business section would have been the top story on the front page. I guess I just do not understand the importance of pools preparing to open.

Some of the same players who almost pulled off a world wide economic meltdown in 2007 have now been exposed as colluding to rig foreign currency exchange rates.

I will venture to guess that if these individuals had been dealt with properly by our government the first time around (can you say JAIL TIME?) they might have been less inclined to embark on this line of felony.

It is all the more bizarre owing to the fact that it appears that this was started while they were still being investigated for their individual roles in the sub-prime mortgage schemes.

It does not surprise me that the Financial Crisis Investigation Committee, FCIC, picked to deal with the sub-prime meltdown failed to uncover, during their lengthy investigation of these financial houses, any hint that they were manipulating foreign currency exchange rates.

It would seem to point to a certain amount of government collusion at the time. What a sad sorry moral and ethical picture of this country has been painted by these financial houses and the so called government regulators charged with monitoring them.

It all starts right here at home. By cleaning up our own financial crisis by whatever means necessary, we set the tone for the rest of government, local, state, and federal.

    • Your buddies on the right would rather go after a few isolated cases of food stamp fraud than go afree their wall st friends.

    • Anyone who wants to criticize Obama, Holder et al for not pursuing criminal cases against these thieves will get no rebuttal from me. However as GTJ has already said those on the right go apeshit when somebody gets 1.90/meal for food stamps while staying silent on these assholes that steal billions from all of us.

      • “The Wall Street bonus pool for last year – $28.5 billion – is nearly double the total earnings of all 1.03 million Americans who work full time at the federal minimum wage.”

      • …I was surprised. I must say. Very few comments….it was a little cool today, but I-E is right. I love to fish compared to most things…even when I don’t catch all I want.

        • the editor is banning people on a regular basis these days a lot of people are missing from comments why? not because they have foul language not because they are calling others names and not because of duplication of posting names or unethical behavior from the poster it is because the editor doesn’t agree with them or they dare to question the editors opinions this is not only wrong, it is bad for business poor ole joe we miss him

          • I miss you too TPA. I am far from poor and trying not to admit that I am getting old, but I am getting out of touch with the nonsense that goes on in Evansville. I do still get lots of texts and emails from my personal mole network but don’t bother to post anything anywhere. It is interesting to see what info I am getting that does show up in IIT but it is more interesting to see what does not. Have a good Memorial Day weekend.

All that being said, the mess up of the distance between the bases at the ball complex was priceless as was the declaration that Ford Center was thriving because they only lost $300,000 last year. It seems to be forgotten that the $6 Million or so in bond payments is not included in that loss. It is just more of the same.

          • That post was a twenty penny nail Joe, those ball fields? a cronies fueled joke. it actually did nothing for Evansville’s recorded visitor’s valuation. Just another in the recent series of cronies fueling. That’s why they short sheeted the teams which do offer playing fields of advancing adolescence.

Fog horn had that cause way back…….. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSPaLiTBL3E

          • Foghorn got it right regarding Ford center,V. “There’s somethin’ goin’ on ’round here that just don’t add up.”

      • brains benton, i perhaps agree with you brains, but that is not the point. you know the point! the virtue of free speech far outweighs editors concerns about messaging editor disagrees with being posted. the banning is killing the cco. i started to take it for granted that editor (and everyone else) understood the value of the free flowing exchange of ideas, that it is the valuable prize for the cco to offer. i am absolutely certain joe wallace understood that. i think you, yes you, brains understand that as well. losing the opportunity to slam joe biden, or sharpie, or take your pick, is far greater a loss than keeping al sharpie from being able to post. win because your ideas are better, not because you can shut him up! editor is winning a battle but losing the war, big time.

        • If you want to complain about banning people head on over to the Evansville Courier and Press and bitch about them charging people to make posts on their comments section. Then you will have some room to complain.

          • cmon man, you are missing the point. or maybe you aren’t mo, and you simply don’t think that the value of free speech outweighs the value of shutting up someone you don’t like mo. but you can be bigger than that. editor can too. be above it, have better ideas, win with those ideas, because every time a decision is made to ban another poster, it is like cutting off one of your fingers. eventually, you lose too much and you’ve lost everything mo. cmon, you know the value in this mo.

  3. Here is the best interactive graph I have ever seen for the old “its a great place to raise kids” routine. This qualitatively shows where the best places to grow up are from a future earnings perspective. The differences in Vanderburgh County and Dubois County are stark. Have fun learning where kids are best prepared to go out and earn a living.

  4. Yeah, but these political people in Vanderburgh hate the hell out of facts. Those shine the truth on them, they don’t like that. Our group will have an unique approach to that in the coming days, Its going to be tough for those idiots to sport their twisted valuations. Facts can sport you, or destroy you, and that’s exactly what that minor local needs to learn on the national, or global front lines.

  5. It’s so funny that the bases at the ball fields are still on your bitch list. The fields were never designed for it and to top it all off didn’t the person in the position responsible for booking tournaments turn over?

As far as firefighters go what else are they supposed to be doing? They can leave the hose house but have to take everything with them so you will bitch about them wasting gas, you bitch about them fixing their cars while on duty. Do you not realize they are there for 24 straight hours? You fools.
