IS IT TRUE MARCH 26, 2015 CHIEF OF POLICE AND SENIOR BOARD MEMBER BAGBEY HAD HEATED ARGUMENT?

70

IS IT TRUE yesterday was the taping of our weekly TR-STATE VOICES show?  …our special invited guests were Steve Davis and Missy Mosby?  …only one person showed up for the program?  …we would like to thanks Steve Davis for coming on the show?  …Mr. Davis did a fine job in answering the hard questions asked by Musgrave and Owens? …Missy Mosby ought to be ashamed of herself for her “No Show”?

IS IT TRUE that US Senator Dan Coats announced he will not seek re-election? …we wonder if our own former congressman Brad Ellsworth or former Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel will seek this spot? This will be a great opportunity to seek a Senate seat with no incumbent?

IS IT TRUE that yesterday the Safety Board meeting concerning the awarding a towing contract was extremely interesting to say the least? …Police Chief Billy Bolin and Safety Board member Steve Bagbey had a knock down and drag out affair and a screaming match unheard of in recent times?

IS IT TRUE we are amazed to witness Mr. Bagbey’s public allegation that Evansville Police Chief Billy Bolin tried to get a speeding ticket fixed?  ….rumor has it that Chief Bolin may have tried  to fix a traffic speeding ticket in Newburgh for a well known Republican party mover and shaker?  …if Mr. Bagbey allegation is correct that Police Chief Bolin attempted to fix a traffic ticket then this information should immediately be turned over to the Indiana State Police so they can do an official investigation on this issue? …if indeed Police Chief Bolin is proven guilty of  this act then he has breached the public trust?

IS IT TRUE we wonder how a Safety Board member can vote on a Towing Contract without being told the bid price submitted by of bidder?

IS IT TRUE we were surprised the owner of Tri-State Towing told Councilwoman Connie Robinson they employ no minorities?  …this statement made by the owner of Tri-State Towing shall cost the Mayor many votes in the 4th Ward because the Mayor appointed board gave them the towing contract?

IS IT TRUE the Residency Ordinance lawsuit is set for oral argument on April 23 at 6:00 P.M? …to accommodate the seven judge panel, the oral arguments will take place in City Council Chambers? … all city council members are urge to attend? … the City Council Attorney is requested to have Council President Adams be seated with him at counsel table?

IS IT TRUE the Judges expressed an interest in having the proceedings televised, which will require the consent of both parties and the Indiana Supreme Court? …the Council attorney gave consent on behalf of the Common Council to televise the proceedings? …Judge Lloyd recused herself to avoid any appearance of impropriety because her brother is City Controller? …because only six judges remaining it would be possible to have a tie vote? …the judges suggested that Senior Judge Carl Heldt serve as Special judge giving a seven member panel? …on behalf of the Common Council, the City Council Attorney consented to this as suggestion as well?

  1. Bolin is a disgrace. I’m also glad we’re ridding ourselves of Koch bro bootlicker and proud North Carolina resident dirt bag Dan Coates.

    • He is “Bully Bolin”! And CAJE was accused of being deceptive on this very site just a few days ago when that organization face Bolin and his Neanderthal ways!

  2. IIT that Bagby abstain his vote?
IIT that the contract is a “user” contract and not a “tax based” service?
IIT that Tristate has held the past two contracts (6 years)?
Hammick, is the other towing service that held the contract before that?
IIT true that Hammick is in arrears on paying their fair government taxes?

    Questions I’m asking.
Has Tristate’s service rates been appropriate these past six years?
Has Tristate services been on time to facilitate removal of vehicles for public safety?
Does it seem good policy to choose a tax paying entity over one that is not?
And lastly, who has the contract for the Vanderburgh County Government?

As a side note, I am not seeing much of anything pretaining to our county government activities.
Could it be their actions follow to the letter of the law, unlike the city government which appears boundless
even though there are guildlines to follow, but they thumb their noses at it?

    • “As a side note, I am not seeing much of anything pretaining to our county government activities.
Could it be their actions follow to the letter of the law”

There’s plenty to see in Vanderburgh County government. You just have to know where to go looking.

        • Is it true that a former employee made public files in the County Council’s office go bye-bye?

          • Please enlighten on whom your speaking of and the details. Still awaiting
of your said sources of malfeasants of which you claim knowledge of.

          • Are you that former employee with the inside information on the missing files or did you work with that individual. Who told you about this. Do you have any proof of what you suggested with your leading question or did you just make up that question without any real knowledge of the questioned alleged thief?

  3. While Obama is busy as you read this negotiating (surrendering) to the radical Iranian Mullah’s demands to end economic sanctions against Iran if they “promise” to more slowly enrich their uranium for “peaceful purposes”, an Islamic terrorist group directly sponsored by Iran just captured US anti-terrorism information in Yemen and gave it to the Iranians:

“Secret files held by Yemeni security forces that contain details of American intelligence operations in the country have been looted by Iran-backed militia leaders, exposing names of confidential informants and plans for U.S.-backed counter-terrorism strikes, U.S. officials say.

U.S. intelligence officials believe additional files were handed directly to Iranian advisors by Yemeni officials who have sided with the Houthi militias that seized control of Sana, the capital, in September, which led the U.S.-backed president to flee to Aden.

For American intelligence networks in Yemen, the damage has been severe. ”

    • Ah yes, Joe the chickenhawk’s daily anti Obama copy and paste post.

      • While you have a disparaging comment about Joe you have nothing to say about the content of his post. You can’t even acknowledge that perhaps foreign policy may not be the resident’s strong suit.

        • He is a chickenhawk. He votes to send the poor to die and he won’t fight or volunteer his kids to fight. What are you disputing? I’m sure you’re one too.

      • It’s cherry picking to find dirt on Obama. He gets up every morning in the same petulant child mode scheming how to poke a stick in the eye of the masses that have sounding rejected his incompetence.

The problem being he is becoming predictable and an embarrassment to not only his own party but the complicit MSM that has carried his water all of these years.

    • Joe, please check that banjo you play daily! Appears only one string is used and it is non-stop bashing
on one particular subject! Is this all you think about 24/7? Life is to short for that. Please amuse us with insight on other subjects besides the one you appeared stuck on. This is posted in a constructive way, and not in a bashing way in which I’m not known for. Thanks!

    • Which President set up house in Yemen and put all those secret files and other information in Yemen. How does one expect 100 US military men of arms to defend a place when it’s surrounded by hundreds of thousands of the enemy? Even Navy Seals and other special forces know when it’s time to exit the battle ground. And I read that they destroyed all the sensitive information and equipment before they left Yemen on US C47’s. Maybe the news media reporting that story didn’t have all the fact because someone being interviewed didn’t have all the facts or they just lied about the facts.

Do you remember when the Iranians stormed the US Embassy in Iran and stole all the information and devices inside our Embassy and already know how our CIA and other intelligence and diplomatic people operation? That happened under President Carter. I wanted Carter to bomb the hell out of Iraq during that time. But Carter had to wait patiently in order to save the US diplomats lives. I also remember when the Iraqis shot a French Exocort Missile at one of our US war ships in the Gulf killing many US sailor and almost sinking the ship. I also remember when Iran and Iraq fought a ten year long war and after that Saddam invaded Kuwait in order to steal their oil and pay off his debts from the war. I also remember a certain US GOP Secretary shaking hands with Saddam Hussein and our GOP President giving the Iraqi’s chemical weapons in order to help them fight the Iranians.

Many times in war we side with our lesser enemies to help fight our greater enemies. I learned about this in US History classes. Example Russia used to be our allies during WWII. And do you remember that Japan a current US alli was at one time our enemy during WWII. Cite: Peal Harbor.

At one time Iran under the Shaw of Iran was a friend and we even sold them F14’s.

The world is a changing place.

      • Left out Great Britain, Germany, and Italy as well. Corporate America does business with all our
past/current enemies in some capacity. Viet Nam comes to mind of recent. I feel sorry for our
past/present veterans who had/has endured the emotions of seeing their enemies products on
the shelves of mainland USA stores!

      • Forgot to mention the Indian tribe we fought with in the 1800’s, but were crucial
for communications in the Pacific theater during WW2

        • Yes that was a good story. They spoke a language that we used as code and the enemy could not understand what the “Indian Code Talkers” were saying and never did break the code.

Mean while the Allies capture the German Enigma Machine and the guys at Bletchley Park in England broke the German Code and were reading Hitler’s radio messages to his troops at the same time as his Generals read them. We also broke the Japanese Code and figured out that they were going to be sending the Japanese Fleet to attack Midway Island right after they destroyed most of Pearl Harbors Battle Ships. We sent our three Air Craft Carrier to the NW of Midway and waited for the Japanese Carriers to arrive and took three or four of them out of the war. All because we broke the Japanese code.

The war would have turned out a lot different if we had not broken the codes. Of course it didn’t help Germany with Hitler doing Meth all the time and going insane. Even his own Generals tried to kill Hitler.

    • The middle east is close to all out war between Sunni Muslim factions and Shiite Muslim factions. Our President is for reasons unknown helping to greatly expand Iranian Shiite influence. The US is providing air support for Shiite militias at Tikrit. If US favoritism in a Muslim civil war doesn’t scare the hell out of you, there is something very wrong with you:

“Whatever the thinking behind this move, this is a tragically misguided, indeed perverse policy that will enhance both the power of Iran and of the Sunni jihadists in ISIS who will be seen, more and more, as the only defenders left of Sunnis against Shiite aggression.”

      https://www.commentarymagazine.com/2015/03/25/americas-new-role-as-irans-air-force/

      • Was it GOP George W. Bush Jr. that sent US troops into Iraq to take Tikrit and other Iraqi cities from Saddam Husseins Army? Why didn’t he just use the Iranians to do that and save all those US Soldier that got killed and injured in the invasion of Iraq. And Bush said it he was looking for weapons of mass destruction. Cheney talked as if Saddam was going to use Nuclear weapons on the USA and attack us with Chemical Weapons. Then after it was all over Bush went on TV appearing to look under his desk and then saying “No WMD here” . Then he grinned and laughed at all of the world. Now you want to try to point out what you say is a fault with Obama’s policies. Sorry I’m not buying that.

PS: Didn’t George Bush #1 send us planes over into Iraq to help the Kurds or the Shia Muslems in the Southern Part of Iraq when Saddam’s army was using chemical weapons on the Shia Muslims in the South East of Iraq? I see no different between Bush meddling in what was Iraq’s civil war than what Obama is doing today in Iraq. ISIS is our enemy now and we should use Iran to help rid Iraq of ISIS then take the Iranians out. That’s how we roll.

          • 1countryboy: I suggest you look around and see where all your friends are. Most are not posting today. I wonder why? If you keep up your stupid Grammar School Attacks on people in here YOU may be the next to go. And I’m sure that the Editor/Publisher can block you faster than you can get new names/emails etc. It takes time to get a new IP address to get back in here and it’s fast and easy to block any new IP address you get. So keep it up 1countryboy. Keep it up.

What’s amazing to me is that you take the time to even try to keep up with me. Unless you have something more worth while to contribute to the discussion it might be better for you to just not say anything.

          • Move, Some people have more in their life than posting on here. Maybe they will check in later.

          • Maybe they will and maybe they won’t. I don’t see givemeabreak or any of the other trolls today. Maybe they can’t figure out what happened and think that the CCO shut down. Maybe they are not as cleaver as you and went too far. Maybe they are not as good at staying out of trouble by trolling like you in a sneaky fashion by asking leading stupid questions that are not on topic and rude.

          • And Cowboy you can take the same advice that I gave 1countryboy unless you are one in the same and have more than one account/user name in here like some of the other trolls..

        • Your “Community Organizer” screwed the best laid plans of mice and men when he abandoned Iraq, in all of his infinite wisdom.

          • Your commander in Chief screwed the pooch when he invaded Iraq. If he had just listened to his father (PRESIDENT Bush #1) we would not be in this predicament.

  4. US State Senator

Will we have a more native representative as our next US Senator?
Could we have a second senator of the same party for 2017 session?
IIT without benefits of gerrymandering of districts, the state wide election can produce another (D)?
This poster does wish the current Senator Coats well on his next endeavor?

    • In all fairness, Coats wasn’t a bad Senator. Sure he was a rubber stamp for the party, but that’s to be expected these days. What he didn’t do was make a jackass of himself like so many Senators and Representatives do. Same thing with Donnelly, he’s just a rubber stamp for his party but he hasn’t brought ridicule on the state (so far).

In looking at his replacement, look at both and see if they’re: a) exceptional b) exceptionally stupid or c) rubber stamp. If one is exceptional, vote for them. If one is exceptionally stupid, vote against him. If both are rubber stamps (the usual scenario), than pick your poison, it usually doesn’t change a lot.

      • Good insight. You are pretty much right on the money. What we need is a exceptionally smart independent IN Senator or a moderate.

      • Just like Ellsworth was a Pelosi lapdog. Just like Weinzapfel was the worse mayor this city has ever had. Looks like CCO is working hard to try and re invent the local democrat party. If we must have rubber stamps I prefer a conservative one, they don’t seem intent on destroying things. It appears the CCO has been captured by the liberals of the local democrat party so their future looks dismal, sort of like msnbc. It appears old healthy looking bagbey used a public forum to take a shot at Bolin and Bolin outclassed him. Of course the CCO tried to do a spin, got to get that mayors seat back in democrat hands so they can finish up what Weinzapfel started. The CCO has become nothing more than a liberal love fest.

  5. Good news. It appears that the trolls are gone and the moles are still here. Yeeeea.

      • Yea I’m mobile and can walk and chew gum at the same time. And YOU? And the least you know about me the better so don’t be asking too many questions about me. People might wonder why you are so curious about me.

And Cowboy anything going on in your life that prevents you from having a good discussion instead of asking leading questions? Just curious if you have the intelligence to participate in a open discussion in this forum?

  6. Is it true left out a few interesting topics today, i will ask since the new writer chooses not to.

Is it true John Friend tried to use what little influence he has to make Hamricks win the contract for his own financial gain?

Is it true that the Mothman Friend, who consistently argues with the Mayor and his puppet show about finances, living within means, not spending more than you have and paying your debts, Stood in front of the room and argued that a company who owes several hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal tax liens should be awarded a contract over a tax-paying business?

Is it true that Friend thinks companies who have chosen to not play by the same rules, acquiring huge debt, should be entitled to a contract to “get them out of debt?” In no other realm of Friend’s scope does that logic make sense.

Is it true that Bagbey came off as a pompous a-hole in the meeting, berating the owner of tri-state towing who for all intensive purposes, seems like a nice man just trying to make a living? That is was clear on both the live feed, and interviews with the local news-boys that he had one interest, and that was to make good on his promise of getting Hamricks the towing contract after they had hooked him up with a sweet deal?

Is it true that multiple sources have reported with 1sthand knowledge that Bagbey bought a truck for $100 from Hamricks towing under the agreement that he would “use his weight” to get them the towing contract? Is it true that this isn’t the first time Hamricks has bribed someone with a vehicle (or several?)

Is it true that it’s safe to believe council members Friend, Robinson and Brinkerhoff-Riley spent more time worrying about John Friend’s Lucritive towing contract investment over working on council business?

    Food for thought.

    • Evansville should use a “Rotational System” for hauling vehicles away and have multiple towing companies do this for the city instead of giving just one company a monopoly on the business. IMHO.

I don’t ever know what John Friend is going to do next. He’s going to be out of the picture soon as I think he said he’s not going to run for city council again. SBR won’t run either and that’s a loss for the citizens of Evansville, IN. IMHO.

      • SBR sold out. She is back in the fold and circling the wagons to protect the party. The vote for the water meters was 7-2 against, with SBR voting against. Jack McNeely met with the CC and the vote changed 9-0 for. SBR needs heal herself, judgement is the first thing to go. It’s hard to step out and take a leadership role when you’re covering for the likes of what we have on the CC.

        • pov:

On Johnson Controls meters, the preliminary vote was 7-2, with 7 against and 2 for (of course, the 2 for votes were Missy and Weaver).

While SBR changed her no vote to yes, so did all six of her colleagues . . . .as the final tally (go UNION !) was 9-0 in favor. A disgrace.

    • Just, Interesting questions. The one about Friend saying if his company gets the contract he can pay his back taxes kind of takes the cake.

      • Most businesses need customers to stay afloat. I guess it’s pretty hard to compete with Tri State Towing when they have a monopoly on a lot of the towing business in Evansville. And yes that was not the best thing for Friend to say in Public even though it’s probably true. If they got the contract they could then afford to pay the back taxes. Instead the taxes will go unpaid now and the city will lose out on that money. Read my other post about using a “rotational system” for the towing contracts. That’s how other cities in the State of Indiana do it.

        • @Moveon: the articles on this meeting did not describe WHICH taxes are delinquent. Could well be Federal Income Tax, so the notion that the “city will lose out on the money” could be wrong (if the business is based in Henderson, then it’s not Vandy Co. property tax which is delinquent).

YOU ARE RIGHT about the impropriety of Friend actions. Didn’t he go on site at Tri-State Towing and trespass/their guard dog ripped off Friend’s hipster blue jeans trying to get him to leave the premises and go drink PBR ?

    • answer to your questions. Most of what you say is NOT true. SBR spends more of her time thinking about doing what’s best for her constituents and not as you rhetorically accused her of doing.

  7. I believe Arm raised a good question about what does the county do with their towing work. That would be a good project for the CCO to check out. Why doesn’t the city or county get a % of the towing fees ?

  8. Chief Bolin has one nickname used by some of us…”Flash Bang”. I guess we can add another…”Ticket Fixer”. Read his Facebook post. Embarrassing to the uniform.

    • I just read it. He’s unabashedly admitting he used inappropriate influence and abuse of his position. Look at all the groupies saying it’s ok! Does everyone really think the cops should be able to let their buddies get away with things? Where is the line drawn? Can Bolin get people out of more major violations or crimes?

        • Don’t let Gordon catch you murdering Crows out of season. At first glace I thought you said “Cows” instead of “Crows”. Big difference. And yes I need to get my eye’s checked in about 9 more months. They are not what they use to be. But I got new eye glasses to help read the computer text now days.

  9. Re: Pence’s bigotry law. The bible forbids adultery too. Will businesses refuse to serve divorced persons? People who eat shellfish? Men without beards? Why single out only one thing the bible supposedly forbids?

  10. 3 City Council members at Safety Board Meeting/towing contract decision:

    1) Why ? Taxpayer component is miniscule;

    2) Friend there, wrongly, lobbying for his in-hock client to get the contract. On what basis ? Hamrick lives in Vanderburgh County (and is $ 250,000 behind in taxes). Foolish move by Friend;

    3) Connie Robinson there to lobby for minority participation ? This is not even her vote, this is a safety board vote ?

    4) SBR there–why ? Does she have ” a dog in this fight” ? Confused on this one.

Oh, what a web we weave, when we forget to invite The Beave.

  11. Schlitz M, your last sentence is in running for post of the year! Now for a serious question, did the EPD really investigate a vehicle purchase by Mr. Bagby? If so, for what purpose and who authorized it?

  12. More fallout from Obama’s insistence to support the radical Shiite Mullahs of Iraq that chant “Death to America”, and not the secular and moderate government of Egyptian President Sisi in his fight against radical Islamic barbarians known as ISIS:

“Saudi Arabia has quietly reached out to arch foe Russia in an attempt to temper Iran’s regional influence and reach a compromise on Tehran’s nuclear program, Middle Eastern defense officials told WND.

The Saudi move already has resulted in the opening of back-door dialogue between the two countries aimed at possibly forging a new alliance, the officials said.

The talks may showcase Saudi desperation in light of the Obama administration’s rapprochement toward Iran, perhaps the House of Saud’s biggest competitor for influence in the Middle East and Persian Gulf.

Already, the shifting U.S. regional alliances have seen Russia’s military relationship with long-time U.S. ally Egypt grow ever closer.

The Obama administration has been cool to the secular, moderate government of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, which ousted the Muslim Brotherhood and its Islamist allies led my Mohamed Morsi in 2013.

Ever since the U.S. abandonment of Sisi’s regime, Egypt has grown increasingly closer to Russia, as evidenced by the $3.5 billion arms deal between Cairo and Moscow signed last year.”

    http://www.wnd.com/2015/03/another-scorned-u-s-ally-turns-to-russia/

Obama delusionally believes that lifting economic sanctions against the radical Iraq Mullah’s will make them his friend. Our greatest national security risk flies on Air Force One.

    • It get’s worse by the minute. Now Obama is considering to agree that the radical Iranian Mullahs can keep centrifuges used to enrich uranium in a bomb proof fortress??

“LAUSANNE, Switzerland – The United States is considering letting Tehran run hundreds of centrifuges at a once-secret, fortified underground bunker in exchange for limits on centrifuge work and research and development at other sites, officials have told The Associated Press.

In addition, the site at Fordo is a particular concern because it is hardened and dug deeply into a mountainside making it resistant — possibly impervious — to air attack. Such an attack is an option that neither Israel nor the U.S. has ruled out in case the talks fail.”

      http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/03/26/us-may-let-tehran-run-hundreds-centrifuges-at-once-secret-underground-bunker/?intcmp=latestnews

          • Pretend you have the typical liberal mindset that President Obama is wonderful, like Unicorns riding Rainbows and only mean backward conservatives could possibly be critical. He’s the liberal dream…The REALITY is the middle-east is going to ship, Obama is backing the radical Iranian Islamic Mullahs on a Jihad and unconstitutionally bypassing the Senate . We are in a very dangerous time, and if you want to pretend differently on the Obamaship Lollipop do so at the peril of our national security.

          • “”Obama officials were surprised earlier this month, for instance, when the Iraqi government joined with Iranian-backed militias to mount a sudden offensive aimed at freeing the city of Tikrit from the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant. Nor did they foresee the swift rise of the Iranian-backed rebels who toppled Yemen’s U.S.-friendly government and disrupted a crucial U.S. counterterrorism mission against Al Qaeda there.

Both situations took dramatic new turns this week. The U.S. announced its support for a Saudi-led coalition of 10 Sunni Arab nations that began bombing the Houthis, while Egypt threatened to send ground troops — a move that could initiate the worst intra-Arab war in decades.

  13. Who is the Vectren Executive that Billy Bolin tried to fix the ticket for? Inquiring MINDS WANT TO KNOW.

    • If Vectren Executives can’t afford to pay their own traffic tickets, then Vectren should raise electric rates and give these underpaid managers big raises !

      • Good point. A vectren exec complaining about paying a ticket is a double slap in the face.

  14. Editor: is it true that Missy was offered more than one time and date on which to tape the show?

  15. http://www.14news.com/story/28626825/henderson-replaces-183k-worth-of-equipment-toxicology-tests-done-on-firefighters

IIT that X rays of the lungs will not show contaminate caused by volatile organic compounds in the air? And IIT that lung function tests may not show any damage until after the organic compounds are in the lungs for some time. The Dosage of the oil fumes has to be high in order for damage to be obvious in an acute way. But maybe just maybe a chronic condition could raise it’s head down the road. Still I must commend that City of Henderson for finding the problem with the contaminate of fire fighting air supply systems and tracing the root cause to a faulty air compressor and it’s filtering system. As one that’s used SCBA equipment in the past and SCUBA tanks I know the importance of clean fresh properly filtered air in the tanks. Reputable tank refilling companies have to make sure that the air the pump into SCUBA tanks if dry and free of contaminates at all times. So it appears to me that the City of Henderson did the right thing and cleaned or replaced all the equipment to ensure that their fire fighters are provided with clean air when they risk their lives to put out fires.
