IS IT TRUE JUNE 29, 2017

8

IS IT TRUE that it’s being alleged that Deaconess Hospital-Evansville recently signed a “Letter of Intent” with Henderson Methodist Community Hospital agreeing that both entities would cooperate in the sharing of physicians and other hospital services?

IS IT TRUE that it’s also being alleged that Deaconess Hospital-Evansville may be considering a move to help secure a bond debt owed by Henderson’s Methodist Community Hospital to the tune of $25 to $30 million dollars?  …if this is true it would seemingly allow Deaconess Hospital-Evansville to secure some financial and operative controls over Henderson’s Methodist Community Hospital?

IS IT TRUE we have been told that the Methodist church of Kentucky may have some legitimate interest in the finances of Henderson Methodist Community Hospital?  … that the Henderson Methodist Community Hospital Board of Directors should be concerned about how the Methodist Church of Kentucky will look at any contractual agreement with Deaconess Hospital-Evansville?

IS IT TRUE we wonder why members of the main stream has been so quiet about the Henderson’s Methodist Community Hospital and Deaconess Hospital-Evansville issue?

IS IT TRUE we highly recommend that the Henderson’s Methodist Community Hospital Board of Director pay special attention to the concerns of their 1600 plus employees concerning any contractural agreements that may effect their employment status?

IS IT TRUE that Teamsters Local 215 Awards $210,000 In Scholarship Funds for 2017?  …we will be publishing a detailed list of the winners next week?

IS IT TRUE that earlier this week County Commissioner Ben Shoulders had a car wreck?  …he is doing fine?

IS IT TRUE we still can’t believe the way City Councilwoman Mercer verbally insulted veteran Councilwoman Connie Robinson during the last Council meeting? …Councilwoman Mercer would do herself justice if she would attack the deficit spending habits of the Mayor and not fellow Councilwoman Robinson?

EDITORS FOOTNOTES: “READERS POLL” question is: If the election were held today for Democratic party nomination for Mayor of Evansville who would you vote for?

  1. I encourage the CCO’s loyal readers to tour the undersized North Main Street road project to see for them selves the weeds growing like crazy from the brick parking pavers starting north of the Vectren building. How much of this silly shopping cart pathway project will have to be tore up and repaired so the road is finally made wide enough for 2 trucks to pass at the same time? Who will the City hold responsible for this colossal incompetence?

  2. Dear Joe . .let’s start with the designers and structure engineers. Let’s see who would that be??? Wow, Hafer & Associates . . .the city dropped the ball in regards to the Robert Stadium issues, i.e. malpractice claims, let’s see what plays out this time. So, keep an eye out for future donations to Friends of Winnecke . . .

  3. The reader’s poll shows Weaver would lose a Demo primary for Mayor. But, would Chairman Danks let him run as a Demo if Weaver had in the past openly supported Repub candidates?

    • Well, Danks is Weaver’s attorney on the matter of Weaver violating his ex-wife’s protective order. So Danks has a little bit of a conflict on this.

  4. Why are you referring to Deaconess as “Deaconess Hospital-Evansville”? Yes, St. Vincent’s – Evansville is a real thing now, but Deaconess has always been here with that name. No need for Evansville.

If the Methodist Church of Kentucky were that concerned with the dire finances of Methodist Hospital in Henderson, perhaps they should pony up the funds and know-how to make the hospital solvent.

  5. the pic of me when little o was President was without a doubt before I had my morning booze bottle…….
