IS IT TRUE we heard that the Democratic Party Chairmen may have forgotten to inform the majority of candidates running in the Democratic primary that a local union was having a “Canvass Party”?  …we hear the only Democratic Primary candidates that may had shown up at this union sponsored political “pep rally” may have been Mosby and Weaver?  …we have been watching the Democratic Party Chairman follow through and must confess that he is a major disappointment?  …its obvious that it would be best for him and the party if he would resign after this primary election is over?

IS IT TRUE we stand corrected concerning todays IS IT TRUE post about the “Union Pep Rally”?   IS IT REALLY TRUE that Anna Melcher, Laura Brown,  Jim Brinkmeyer – all attended the Sheet metal workers’ candidate night along with Mosby and Weaver?

IS IT TRUE  that the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has requested that 5th Ward Council member John Friend testify before the Indiana Senate in support of the passage to the repeal of the Common Construction Wage act?requirement?  …Mr. Friend is a member of the NFIB leadership council?  …our moles indicate that Mr. Friend may be prepared to testify that small business would be elevated to a higher level of competitiveness if the Common Construction Wage legislation is repealed?  ...that the NFIB was  that organization that took the Obama Administration to the steps of the Supreme Court over Obamacare issue?

IS IT TRUE we are surprised of the results of this week Readers Poll?  …the question we ask our readers to answer was, “Who is more trustworthy? The Mayor or City Council”?  … the results were Mayor- 31 , City Council- 87 and Neither one-124  ?  …all we can say is ‘WOW”?

IS IT TRUE we are getting ready to re-activated our “MOLE HOTLINE”?  …we are looking for information that you think needs to be in the news? …the  new “MOLE HOTLINE” will allow you to submit breaking news quickly and discretely to the CCO?   …we are most interested in receiving information that leads to help improve good public policy?   ….beginning this coming Monday you can email your news tips to citycountyobserver@live.com?  … all you have to do is describe the situation you think needs to be covered?  … please give as much detail as possible?  …we shall do the followup work?

IS IT TRUE that 6th Ward City Councilman Al Lindsay and his opponent Jim Brinkmeyer have both accepted invitations to appear on Tri-State Voices in an upcoming show? …this will be the only opportunity for both candidates to appear on a televised show and give the viewer’s their positions on the issues? …this is a extremely competitive race and should be an exciting show to watch?  …that the only candidates that refused to come on the TRi State Voices Show was Dan McGinn and Missy Mosby?

PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ OUR READERS POLL QUESTION AND CAST YOUR VOTE ACCORDINGLY.

  1. Anna Melcher, Laura Brown, Brinkmeyer – all attended the Sheet metal workers’ candidate night with Mosby and Weaver. They invited all the candidates that support Winnecke. Faulkner wasn’t involved, not that it matters. He should resign for many other reasons.

  2. Off topic, but Obama and John Kerry’s new friend the Ayatollah is accusing them of lying about the Iranian nuclear deal. Obama and Kerry must be furious that the rascally radical Iranian exporters of world terrorism, couldn’t have kept mum until next Fall’s national elections:

“Earlier today, Khamenei broke his silence on the supposed “framework” the Obama administration has been trumpeting as the basis for a nuclear accord. Khamenei’s speech pulled the rug out from underneath the administration.

Khamenei accused the Obama administration of “lying” about the proposed terms, being “deceptive,” and having “devilish” intentions, according to multiple published accounts of his speech, as well as posts on his official Twitter feed.

Khamenei also disputed the key terms Obama administration officials have said were agreed upon in principle. Economic sanctions will not be phased out once Iran’s compliance has been “verified,” according to the Ayatollah. Instead, Khamenei said that if the U.S. wants a deal, then all sanctions must be dropped as soon as the agreement is finalized. Khamenei also put strict limits on the reach of the inspectors who would be tasked with this verification process in the first place.”

On topic, with regard to the Unions only inviting Demos Weaver and Mosby to their fund raiser, the question is who else did the Unions invite? Only Republicans? Looks like SBR and other Demo City Council members that have been critical of the handling of the downtown hotel project may have been permanently thrown under the bus by their long time Union buddies.

  3. Union rank and file mist wise up quickly and demand new leadership. Supporting Mike Pence? Really?

    • If they were wise they wouldn’t belong to a union. The union leadership may be getting wise to the democrat party, union members gave a lot of support to liberal democrats and got nothing in return. Union membership is dwindling because democrats via NAFTA sent those union jobs global. Democrats care as much about people of other countries as they do natural born US citizens. It’s about time that union leadership woke up and recognized the GOP as the American party. Take this one thing home with you, A democrat, Jonathon Weinzapfel was the mayor of Evansville, with a democrat CC and stood silent and dumb as Whirlpool moved south to me he co. The unions have been very nasty and mean to conservatives and now we rejoice with the RTW law and there’s more to come. The unions did not stand up for Christians giving them the right to practice their faith freely, so your foes are multiplying rapidly.

  4. JOE BIDEN:

I agree with you the Iran nuclear deal is, in it’s current form, a no-go.

And you have been CLEAR, you agree (that’s being polite).

But here is the question JOE BIDEN….(cause as everyone here knows, your opinion is “this deal sucks”)…and you NEVER say what SHOULD be done.

What SHOULD be done Joe Biden?

    1. Too many countries do business w/ Iran (Britain, Germany, S. Korea, France, Brazil, China etc). Keeping sanctions in place WILL NOT WORK…making them harder will NOT work either. Money talks in case you didn’t know that. Too many countries have lost too much business…and they lose more every day. (Iran knows this VERY well, which is why you see them being so undiplomatic towards everyone who wants a deal.) Everyone’s pocketbook is getting hurt badly….and the balance of the industrial world wants Iran’s business. Keep the sanctions…IS NOT A VIABLE PLAN.
    2. Bomb Iran and go to war?
    3. Wait for a better deal?

Which is it Joe Biden? What DO you recommend? Explain yourself….

    • He’s a chicken hawk. He wants war but he won’t fight it and doesn’t want his kids to.

    • Israel won’t rest until every Muslim is dead and they want us to handle the dirty work. They’ve lied to get us into war before and they’re doing it again.

      • Ghost. Ridiculous! Show your evidence Israel won’t rest until every Muslim is dead. Bizarre statement, but typical.

      • It’s the other way around. You have never heard an Israeli call for the destruction of all Muslims. They know they are totally surrounded by their enemies so they are striving to maintain peace through strength. It was Iran’s decree that the destruction of Israel is not negotiable.

        • If you’d wake up you’d see that Israel, with us as their pawns, are the real agressors in the region. When every one of your neighbors hates you you might want to look in the mirror.

          • There is an old saying by a former major league baseball manager. It says that “…the best defense is a good offence…”

Another saying by a former local HS football coach is that “…I never lost a game when we put more points on the board than our opponents did…”

Israel — over the years — must have taken these sayings to heart. Ghost’s hatred of Israel comes through loud and clear.

          • Talking about what Israel does in the middle east is not Hatred for the Jews. Why do the Jews and their friends play the “you hurt me” card all the time when it’s the Israelis that are taking over Palestinian territory? Yea I know that both sides have been fighting over that land in the Middle East for over 4000 years now. They fought under different ancestral names or tribes. Why do we put so much emphasis on the Middle East. We should focus more about what’s going on at home instead of abroad.

If we kept our noses out of the Middle East in the First place there would never be any terrorism here at home. We fight and protect Israel and that’s what causes the Muslim to fight with us and terrorize the USA and all or territories and friends.

That’s not hatred you dummy, that’s just the truth.

          • The Jews have always been Jews and they’ve always been hated be c cause they are proof that God is. That little country is surrounded by enemies that want nothing more than the total destruction of not just the State of Israel but all Jews yet they exist.

So it’s our fault that they hate us? Blame America first.

        • Commonsense and Mega D, the liberal left doesn’t need facts, just feelings and talking points. Koch brothers, big oil, spotted owl and similar slogans. In fact, their hatred for real conservative Americans is greater than their sense of defense against the ongoing radical Islamic jihad.

          • I do believe that. I also belief the underlying issue isn’t so much ideology but a spiritual one…”we wrestle not with flesh and blood”. They have no idea why they hate Israel so intensely only that they do.

Pogo, good analogy. Israel is fighting for its very survival in a sea of enemies.

    • Quark, The sanctions are working. That is the only reason they are at the bargaining table. I don’t fault the current administration for starting the approach in 2009. All admins have in their blood to take on the major problems in the world. They want history to say they did something great. The problem as i see it is the USA went to far in trying to get a deal. Once you start conceding just to get them to discuss it you are backing up which plays right into their hands.

      • Cowboy………and I don’t see Iran wanting to STAY at the bargaining table. They are leaving the bargaining table in fact.

        • Historically the U.S. has chosen NOT TO DEAL WITH TERRORISTS but, of course, Mr. Obama knows better and look what a bang-up he did with the Bergdahl negotiation. He really played hard ball. We got one deserter and they only got five generals out of the deal. Now that’s some top-shelf negotiating.

          • Look Mega…..what you wrote here is stupid, ignorant blather. Who gives a damn about Obama…!

The question you and Joe Biden won’t answer, is without the sustainability of sanctions….and the global economy will NOT honor US Congress’ wish to continue them…WHAT SHOULD BE DONE w/ Iran? What are YOU recommending here?

          • QD – Enforceable sanctions and the collective will to enforcement them. We don’t negotiate with terrorists.

          • My “ignorant blather” was concerning Obamas lack of skill while negotiating, keeping in mind the best interests of the American people. Of course if our best interests weren’t the goal, and doubtless they’re not, perhaps he is spot on.

          • Well, thanks for the answer.

Forget the politics of this (and because it’ s Presidential season, that’s all we are hearing I’m afraid)…..what seems clear to me is Iran could give a damn about the talks and signing any agreement because they KNOW business trumps this stuff in a global economy. The Middle East is Saudi Arabia and Iran. Everyone else is a bit player.

And Britain, Germany, S. Korea, Brazil and China are all MAJOR economies who aren’t interested in having a stagnant economy…..and that means they have NO interest in staying on this sanction business. They want TRADE. Russia gets what it wants, and countries are reluctant to put sanctions in place because it is BAD FOR BUSINESS and the companies in those countries.

Iran is not Afghanistan. The people go to college. They have roads and significant infrastructure and healthcare and industrial operations….and they BUY things from other countries with lots of cash. Sanctions are bad for business…..and the option you prescribed…..that plan is wishful thinking MEGADITTOS.

          • ….I think the current deal being discussed is a “DO NOT SIGN” deal.

But the people who are complaining about it…and NOT being honest that they know sanctions have run their course – and without cooperation they will END……and the risk for WAR here…….is BIG.

          • ….and JOE BIDEN…needs to add an addendum to his daily rants about Obama if he expects to be taken seriously.

JOE needs to start saying if he thinks we need to go to war w/ Iran or not.

Otherwise, Joe B is just doing a bunch of useless hollering, not because he knows what we should do….he doesn’t……he just likes to gripe about Obama. It’s about that w/ him.

          • we gots a sayin in the swamp for people talkin like joe biden all hat no cowboy

    • COWBOY,

But the international will to KEEP the sanctions…is dying. They worked, but they will not last forever…want proof? Iran could give a DAMN if the talks fail. They KNOW the sanctions won’t stay….w/ the rest of the world. Forget expanding the sanctions.

Cowboy…..The US wants to vote to keep sanctions? Ok. But tell Great Britain (and BP Oil and the entire London banking industry who we all know lost all morals in the business world when they laundered Russia’s economy), tell Brazil, tell France (who has weapons systems of all things they want to sell), tell South Korea, tell China……..and you can go ON and ON.

The US Congress may want to keep sanctions, but London banks don’t give a damn what they think.

Iran knows this, so do ALL of the other countries involved in negotiations. But for some reason Cowboy…you ignore this.

      • Quark, Any time there are sanctions there will be people try to get around them. They will sell to a friend of Iran who will resell if they think they can get away with it. If the sanctions continue working Iran’s economy will stay in bad shape. They had big problems before with $100 oil to sell. It’s magnified with $55 oil. Their oil isn’t needed in the market as we have plenty at this time. To get someone to run around the sanctions they would have to go to the $20’s like the ISIS people do. The majority of the money they want back is held in our system. I think the Pres. did release some to get them to the table though. The European countries would be with us i believe if we continue an or tighten the sanctions. France showed more resolve in the talks than the US did. If we continue the pressure some of the Iranian changes will come from their people if they think they have anyone standing with them. We let them down before. I think a lot of the talk about “others want to drop the sanctions” comes from Washington. It’s part of the P.R. to sell the deal.

  5. But Ghost, you are all for censorship when it occurs to those that don’t agree with your views. Only when it hits home and is in your personal space, do you object to it.

  6. My 9:15 post was in response to Ghost 7:43 post.
I’ve looked for the mole award info on Missy and it seems it has been removed. What’s the deal on that.
    Jack Waldroup

  7. This site is such a joke. Previously it was entertaining to read the crazed folks literary nonsense. Now the Editor has nothing to say except to undermine, moan, and complain. This past saturday, the Editor, surpassed his/her ability to expand on nonsense, and to ask those who continue to view this site to make comments on the nonsense.

    Remember the CCO tagline:

” The Evansville City-County Observer is the leading source of information, education, communication, and entertainment in the tri-state area. ”

My humble opinion has been stated.

    • giveme is right you know the editor started censoring and removing posters just after joe wallace left and because of it everyone else is leaving too editor better start solving problems and quit being the ccos biggest problem

      • You didn’t leave yet Tea Party Animal. So when are you going to leave and not come back?

          • You’re grammar is not that good either. But I bet that you are posting with a dumbphone and don’t know where the Shift Button is located.

And Givemeabreak. Why do you continue to come here if you think it’s so bad. Just leave and all will be fine.

          • your (possessive) is not spelled “you’re” moveon guess who’s the grammar king now beeayatch!

  8. Tea Party Animal/Waitamin- if you don’t like the site, leave. Why would you keep getting on here to comment if you don’t like it. The paper is free. There is no need for you to leave your two sense worth when it is always rude. Find some other website to be rude. In my humble opinion the paper is much more positive and reading articles is the same as it always has been. Thanks CCO. Keep up the good work and keep informing me of things that need to be heard!

      • Tell it to your friends at the Evansville Courier and Press and the Mayor’s office. They need to hear that kind of advise.

        • so you mean the cco is the pot calling the kettle black zie cco editor is zenzorin zie frie spiech!!

    • Please point out when I’ve been rude. I think it’s rude to pull a post with no good reason. I know many post that have been pulled because they stepped on certain office holders toes, mostly the ones the CCO backs.
Maybe you should ask Ron if he really wants all the rude people to leave this site.
I will leave you with one thought that you might consider rude, no never mind. Don’t want to stoop that level. Have a nice day.
      Jack Waldroup

      • you have not been rude you disagree with editor that is grounds for banning here at cco

        • Tea = ghost =moveon. IMHO they are the same poster with same topics with Tea as the dumb foil. Really, classic leftists.

      • Waitamin, while you and I are on differing sides of some issues, I have never found any of your posts to be other than sincere and fair comment. Keep on posting and keep good debate on the CCO.

      • Jackie Boy love them Mosby’s. After all, last time a Mosby was County Commissioner, Jackie Boy got the Engineering contract for the Vanderburgh County Jail. Several families are still living on that hefty commission. Oh, how Jackie Boy misses the good old days.

        • Truth seeker
Now you have no idea how much commission anyone made on any contract. But if that makes you feel better to blow off about things you know nothing about, Jackie Boy doesn’t mind. You have a great weekend because I know we will, watching the grandkids
