IS IT TRUE that Republican County Commissioner candidate Alex Schmitt has had several small claims lawsuits filed against him in the Vanderburgh Superior Court during the last 3 years for the non-payment of bills?  …that a couple judgments were entered against Mr. Schmitt as a result of the filing of such small claims lawsuits against him?

IS IT TRUE that the Vanderburgh County Commissioners may have caused county employees to lose money when they decided to re-invest their hard-earned dollars in another plan?   …its alleged when their money was moved to another firm the fixed rate on their investment will drop from 3.5% to 2.1%?  …that its alleged that the son of County Commissioner Joe Kiefer and now candidate for County Council Joe Kiefer works for the company the 457 account was transfer to?  …that Mr. Kiefer abstained from voting on the transfer of the 457 account when the issue came before the County Commission?…that this issue is causing Mr. Kiefer political problems with county employees?

  1. It’s worth noting that Kiefer is a Republican and probably hates the poor and makes fun of them for getting food stamps. Seems to me he just got himself a nice welfare check. Welfare suits republicans just fine, provided it’s going to rich whites.

      • The Ghost of the Murderous Tom Joad, EB, must have been scared by a Republican questioning the delivering of a welfare check to him at a tender time in his life, like yesterday.

    • Democrats have destroyed more good jobs, union jobs, created a dependent class which is our largest budget item, preside over our poorest cities, and have stood on the wrong side of history for civil rights.

      • The “haves” have destroyed from “both” sides of politics.
        One must look closely these past hundred years and see what the “haves” and their bought lobbyist, which the biggest villain is the chamber of commerce, has done to change laws which took money out of the working sector and filled the pockets of the few. One must look at debt at all government levels. and trade deficiet of several generations back when we made what we consume. Now look at we have in 2016. This was not caused by the hourly workers!!!!!!!!

        As far as the “dependent class”, in general. is the product of generations of the “haves” wanting excessively more then their far share. Eliminating jobs (except for the work that technology has replaced) for the sake to please stock holders (haves) has created this issue. Looks like the “haves” should be doing their Civic duty” and hire some of those dependants that they dispiese!

        I must get busy and “toil” for someone else who has more worldly wealth (not envy) then I!
        Word has it you do not take your wealth with you when you die!

        • Uniouns have killed the most jobs. Tje Chamber does a n excellent job in helping small businesses.

        • BTW, the democrats gave us the trade deal. Except for in the public sector, unions are vanishing because they have not changed to compete in the world economy. And I not talking about lower wages.

      • Just stop with the whole Democrat KKK thing. It makes you look stupid. Also, our largest budget items are miltary and corporate welfare, and some of that spending overlaps.

    • In our universe, the guy who got the new account for the lower interest investment firm did. It’s good that Kiefer abstained, but what about the other Comissioners? What is wrong with them?

  3. Looks like the contest to choose two Fourth Ward delegates to the Republican State Convention pits Mr. & Mrs. Musgrave against Mr. & Mrs. Winnecke-McClintock. Watch closely. The official legal notice of the primary is in the dead tree edition of the daily newspaper, along with the notice of vote center locations. Important fact is that early voting at the civic center starts April 5 at 8 a.m.

    • It is instructive that Carol McClintock lives in taxpayer subsidized housing, while her opponent has used her own resources to provide her housing, and has lived in the ward much longer than McClintock. Its a character thing.

  4. Brenda Bergwitz is the only unbought and unbossed person running. I’m proudly voting for her. Muskrat just wants to use her position to buy more land around her estate and Schmidt is just political flab. I don’t care that he had medical bills so did I at one time. But Brenda is not afraid of anyone and she is a true conservative

  5. Winky really has a knack for picking candidates. He got us Michelle Mercer and Anna Hargis, the ditzies on City Council. He picked Schriber and now Schmitt. We don’t need more of his picks.

  6. It’s too bad that Gail Riecken is supporting the Democrats’ entitled second-generation lawyer. When she went for Ryan Hatfield she fell in line with the Mosby-Weaver crowd, and that is taken as disrespectful by the working and middle class Democrats who supported her in the Mayor’s race. That casts a real shadow on her political legacy. Did she forget that the Fourth Ward is the only ward she won against Winnecke?
