LineMilitary Relief Fund

The Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs has expanded the eligibility of the Military Family Relief Fund—MFRF—to Hoosier veterans and their families across the state by offering an emergency financial assistance fund.

The MFRF is focused on ensuring Indiana veterans and the Indiana service community can have access to emergency financial assistance which provides up to $2,500 to cover their most central and basic needs:

  • Housing (rent / Mortgage)
  • Utilities
  • Food
  • Current Medical Expenses
  • Transportation (vehicle payment/basic emergency repairs /insurance)

Indiana veterans are encouraged to contact their local County Veteran Service Officers (CVSO). The CVSO is an essential, local expert on state and federal veteran benefits and can provide valuable information on how to access these many programs.

The Site Visit

line

final

The response to last week’s Site Visit was just overwhelming!  Congratulations to Danelle, Matt, Lesa, Jennie, Chris, and Michael for quickly identifying Enterprise Pointe in Angola (pictured above).  We should also give a standing ovation to Lesa and Jennie for both correctly answering “All of the above” for the bonus points within minutes of receiving last week’s Note.

Enterprise Pointe located at 907 S. Wayne Street in Angola is less than a half mile to “The Mound” in the center of town and less than a mile of Steuben County’s three largest employers.  The property consists of 50 two-bedroom units and co-working office and entrepreneur space for creative developers, designers, artisans, inventors, engineers, and professionals.   The development brought together multiple partnerships, most notably Brightpoint, Steuben County Economic Development Corporation, and Keller Development.

Veterans Village

We are staying in northern Indiana this week and will be visiting a site (pictured above) that is dedicated to our Indiana Veterans.  So, lets jump on I-90 West to a city adjacent to the Indiana Dunes National Park.
