The Evansville Thunderbolts pulled out their first home win December 2 in an overtime win against the Knoxville Ice Bears. Continuing the wins, the UE Men defeated Boise State Saturday afternoon and the Thunderbolts shut the Ice Bears down with a 3–0 win that evening. Springing from the success, SPHL named Evansville Thunderbolts’ Tanner Milliron, Bauer Player of the Week. Milliron is currently leading the league netminders (goalies) in shutouts (2) and minutes (651:53) for the season and stopped all 44 shots faced and didn’t allow a goal in 110 minutes of action this past weekend.
Ford Center has only seen Ws this week with UE Women defeating Oakland City while breaking their all-time attendance record Tuesday with a 108 – 68 win. That evening the UE Men didn’t break the streak while holding Bowling Green to the very last second with a 69–66 win.
Hoping to make this a nine-game home stand at Ford Center, your Evansville Thunderbolts will take on Columbus Friday, December 9 at 7:15 PM. Saturday, December 10, the UE Women will take on Austin Peay at 12 PM and the UE Men will fight for the W against Murray State at 3 PM.
