Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve

The largest old-growth urban forest in the United States is in the heart of the city and it offers some of the best views of fall foliage in Evansville. But what makes it truly special is the nearly 5 miles of trails you can walk throughout the nature preserve.
You’ll pass under canopies created by the trees and over bridges scattered with fallen leaves. It will be hard to believe you’re on our city’s bustling east side and not in one of our country’s most famed national forests.

Burdette Park

Is the west side the best side for taking in the fall foliage? Fans of Burdette Park would answer yes, and you probably would too after spending the day taking in the 180-acres of scenic rolling hills.
But why just stay for the day? Wind down with an overnight getaway at one of the park’s chalets or full hook up sites for RVs. Some adventurers even choose to pitch a tent and camp overnight, enjoying the spectacular views from sunrise to sunset.
