EVENTS PLAZA ANNOUNCES TWO COUNTRY ROCK HEADLINERS -   KENTUCKY HEADHUNTERS AND CONFEDERATE RAILROAD!

Evansville, IN – May 15, 2023 – LMR Promtotions and Old National Events Plaza announce two award-winning country rock bands will play the Aiken theatre on one night this summer! The Kentucky HeadHunters and Confederate Railroad are slated to perform on August 18.

Southern rock band, The Kentucky HeadHunters, originated in Kentucky in 1986 with an eclectic, guitar-heavy sound influenced by country, blues, heavy metal and rockabilly genres. The band has released 23 singles, 10 studio albums and three compilations, spanning the last three decades. The Kentucky HeadHunters have several notable country music songs including, “Dumas Walker,” “Oh Lonesome Me,” which hit top 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, and “The Ballad of Davy Crockett.”

The Kentucky HeadHunters took home a GRAMMY® Award for Best Country Performance by a group with Vocal for their album Pickin’ on Nashville, along with three Country Music Association awards, and an Academy of Country Music award.

In 2021 the band released a new album titled That’s a Fact Jack! through Practice House Records. The first single from the album was “How Could I”, followed by “Susannah” and the title track. The Kentucky HeadHunters made their debut on the Grand Ole Opry in December of 2021, following the album’s release.

Confederate Railroad is a country rock band from Marietta, Georgia, with lead vocalist Danny Shirley, drummer Mark DuFresne, and members Rusty Hendrix and Mo Thaxton. The band’s unique style and sound landed a contract with Atlantic Records in 1987. Their first self-titled debut album was released the same year.

Confederate Railroad has released six studio albums, selling more than five million records, with 18 singles landing on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs charts. The band’s famous singles, “She Took It Like A Man,” “Jesus and Mama,” and “Queen of Memphis” went to the top of the Country music charts. Hit single, “Trashy Women,” would lead the band to a GRAMMY® award nomination and become their signature song. Confederate Railroad received the Academy of Country Music’s Best New Group Award as well as several nominations from the Country Music Association and the British Country Music Foundation.

The band’s most recent studio album, Lucky to Be Alive, was issued on the D&B Masterworks label in 2016 and their first live album, Confederate Railroad Live: Back to the Barrooms, released in 2010 on the E1 Music label.
