EPD Join Forces With Animal Care And Control To Help Find Forever Homes For Some Furry Friends

Beginning today, the Evansville Police Department will team up with the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Animal Care and Control Shelter to help find “Furever” homes for animals who are in need of a loving family.

Each Friday, the EPD will use their Twitter (@EvansvillePD) and Facebook pages to post the FRIDAY RESCUE ROUNDUP!

The post will include a picture of one of EPD’s Finest and one of Animal Care and Control’s Furriest. There will also be some information about the animal and details on how to adopt them.

We hope this new partnership helps reduce the population at Animal Care and Control and, more importantly, puts these amazing animals into loving homes!

  1. I applaud any program that helps to find good, loving homes for pets in need. A problem that must be solved without delay is that many people (both rich and poor) do not spay or neuter their pets. This is just plain ignorant. It is the law in Chicago and because of that, some pets from VHS are transported to Chicago to find good homes after being spay/neutered locally. We are lucky to have that safety valve. Many sweet, beautiful, intelligent pets are euthanized in Evansville. And this will continue until people stand up for the pets’ rights and find ways to improve conditions here in this little berg. Until we can forget our $500,000 houses and fancy golf courses and begin to become adults instead of spoiled children, we will remain a pathetic place without compassion in so many ways.
