  1. It’s just to bad these Economic Development types still can’t communicate to the average Joe a bit better…

Example: Listing a grant from Vanderburgh County granting money to Burdette? Don’t they own it anyway?

Example: Why do some sewer projects get grants, yet some communities are seemingly forced to cut checks on their own?

Example: What is “Downtown”? What is “Parkplan”?

When you still have lots of people out of work, it seems more candor, might help the voters understand the bureaucratic direction our tax money is… flowing.

  2. Project: CEDS
    Grantee: Vanderburgh County
    Year: 2009
    Grant Amount: $12,500.00

    What is “CEDS”?

    Year: 2008
    Grant Amount: $50,000.00

Wasn’t this for the educational center some developers wanted to build near Elberfeld on old coal mine property? Didn’t the legislature deny them funding? 2008 seems a long time ago, but those guys spent the money somehow.

When I see Comprehensive or Redevelopment Plan, Master or Revitalization Plan, my eyes roll up into my head! Enough is enough! Stop making jobs for your friends and relatives.

Enough of these towns have real needs with the words,”fire dept., fire truck, sewer, water separation, and special needs”. I don’t mind financing those type projects because the benefit the real people who pay the taxes and have real needs.
