The Easter Seals “Cool Car, Cold Cash” Contest entry deadline is this Thursday (July 28) at noon (CDT), and approximately 995 of the original 3,500 tickets are still unsold.

Raffle proceeds are essential for the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center to fund life-changing therapy sessions for local individuals with disabilities.  So in an effort to sell the remaining chances, the nonprofit is offering ticket buyers an opportunity to win a “bonus” entry in the drawing, which will award a grand prize of a new 2016 Nissan Versa or $15,000, second prize of $5,000 and third prize of $1,000.

Anyone purchasing a ticket 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, July 25, or Tuesday, July 26, and saying the word “HOPE” will be entered into a drawing to win an extra ticket. The extra ticket winner will be drawn immediately before the grand prize drawing on Thursday.

“Cool Car, Cold Cash” tickets are $50 each or three for $100.  To purchase tickets 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday or Tuesday:

  • Call 812-474-2348 or 812-437-2607 to pay from a checking or savings account (NO credit or debit cards)
  • Visit the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center, 3701 Bellemeade Avenue, Evansville, IN, 47714 to pay with cash, check, money order or debit card (NO credit cards)

Tickets will continue to be available in person at the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center and by phone (812-474-2348 or 812-437-2607) Wednesday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Thursday 8 a.m.-12 noon.  However, the chance to win the extra ticket ends Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Easter Seals estimates that approximately 2,505 tickets have been sold since raffle sales began in May.  The grand prize drawing was postponed once in an effort to sell additional tickets, but it will not be rescheduled again.

Last year, 3,290 tickets were in the final drawing and approximately $99,000 was raised for therapy.  Easter Seals’ goal for this year is to raise $101,000 to fund physical, occupational and speech therapy for tri-state children and adults with disabilities who couldn’t otherwise afford it.

The raffle drawing at 12:15 p.m. Thursday at the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center is open to the public, but ticket buyers donot have to be present to win.  Tickets may be purchased by individuals or groups.  Entrants must be at least 18 years old.  All sold tickets are verified and the drawing is supervised by the accounting firm Kemper CPA Group.
