Senior defender Madelyne Juenger (Columbia, Illinois) put the Eagles on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal in the 21st minute. Sophomore goalkeeper Maya Etienne (Midland, Michigan) picked up four of her game-high five stops in the first half as the Eagles took a 1-0 lead into the break.

USI (3-1) tacked on another tally early in the second half as junior midfielder Madison Cady (West Chicago, Illinois) found the back of the net in the 47th minute. Fellow classmate Katlyn Andres (Louisville, Kentucky) capped off the Eagles’ scoring with a goal in the 55th minute as USI cruised to its third straight victory.

Senior forward/midfielder Taylor McCormick (Rapid City, South Dakota) had assists on both of USI’s second-half goals, while Etienne kept Eagles’ opponent off the scoreboard for the third straight match to lower her goals-against-average to 0.50 on the year.

USI returns to action Sunday at 2:30 p.m. when it hosts Truman State University in the second half of a men’s and women’s doubleheader at Strassweg Field. Sunday’s match is slated to be aired on the GLVC Sports Network.
