The University of Southern Indiana women’s soccer team allowed three first half goals and lost to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, 4-1, Sunday afternoon in Somers, Wisconsin. USI saw its record fall to 4-6-2 overall and 3-6-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while UW-Parkside rose to 4-8-1, 3-7-1 GLVC.

The Screaming Eagles could not stop the Rangers’ offense in the first 20 minutes as UW-Parkside built a 3-0 lead with goals at 1:37, 21:42 and 22:44 of the opening half. UW-Parkside also outshot USI, 15-3, and had a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks during the first 45 minutes.

USI would strike quickly after halftime when freshman defender Olivia Wilde (Racine, Wisconsin) deposited a free kick from 35 yards into the back of the UW-Parkside goal, cutting the deficit to 3-1. The goal at 47:48 was Wilde’s third of the season.

The Rangers would answer the Eagles’ tally 12 minutes later with the final goal of the contest at 52:09, giving the match a final score of 4-1.

USI returns to the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field for its final regular season homestand of the 2015 campaign. The Eagles are slated to host Truman State University October 16 at 5 p.m. and Quincy University October 18 at noon for Senior Day.
