The University of Southern Indiana women’s tennis team dropped a close 5-4 match on the road against the University of Charleston this afternoon. The Eagles finish 1-1 in dual matches for their fall season.Â

Charleston jumped out to an early lead taking two of the three doubles matches. Senior Elizabeth Wilm (Evansville, Indiana) and junior Brenna Wu (Evansville, Indiana) came away with an 8-2 victory at two doubles to keep USI alive. Wu and junior Kymberly Brannon (Louisville, Kentucky) came away with late singles wins to even the match at four wins apiece.Â

The deciding point came in the final match where Charleston got the point at number three singles in a third set tie-breaker.Â

With just one more event in their fall season, the Eagles will be back in action October 28 for the annual Broomstick Classic at the USI Tennis Courts.
