University of Southern Indiana Women’s Basketball senior forward Morgan Dahlstrom (Grayslake, Illinois) has been named CoSIDA Academic All-District IV Thursday in a vote by the NCAA Division II sports information directors in the Midwest Region.
An exercise science major with a 3.91 grade point average, Dahlstrom is enjoying a career year for the No. 9/14 Screaming Eagles. She is currently sixth in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with 16.9 points per game and leads league with 10.4 rebounds per outing.
In 2017-18, Dahlstrom has collected a pair of GLVC Player of the Week awards and currently leads the conference with 12 double-doubles. She has twice scored more than 30 points in a game and has scored 20-or-more points in a game six times this year.
A third-team All-GLVC honoree as a junior in 2017-18, Dahlstrom currently ranks 19th all-time at USI with 982 career points and is sixth with 704 rebounds. She needs just 18 points to become the 18th player in program history to reach the 1,000-career point plateau and the sixth USI player to reach the 1,000-point and 700-rebound plateau.
USI (23-2, 15-1 GLVC) can clinch its second straight GLVC East Division title with a win over the University of Wisconsin-Parkside tonight and could claim the top seed in the GLVC Tournament with a win tonight and a win Saturday against Lewis University. Tonight’s game against UW-Parkside is slated to begin at 5:30.
