1:30 p.m.
Caze Elementary School, 2013 S. Green River Rd.

Congressman Larry Bucshon will be in Evansville Friday to visit Eric Carson’s fifth grade classroom at Caze Elementary School. The visit comes as part of the class’ participation in the Capital Hill Challenge, a stock market “game” that takes place nationally where each congressional representative is give one school/class to represent them. Caze fifth graders will be representing Congressman Bucshon in the challenge.

Congressman Bucshon will talk about his role as congressman in helping to build our state economy, how students can plan for their future education, jobs and money, role of International business in Indiana and much more.

The stock market game builds a fundamental understanding of investing while providing students with real-world skills and practice in math, English language arts, economics, social studies, and other subjects. Students work in teams and have to buy and sell stocks to build a portfolio that competes against other students across the country. Throughout the process, advisors will come to Mr. Carson’s classroom and talk about economics from a political prospective.

The top 10 teams will go to the New York Stock Exchange.
