  1. Yes we been had ,winnecke, shafer,Lloyd jr. , and city council members during time mentioned should be held accountable and have their day in court

  2. In all seriousness, no business or non-profit – including unions – would accept the “new software” excuse for bad audit reports year after year. That is, unless they are in deep denial and intending to fail financially. I understand the county uses this same system quite successfully. It is especially troubling that one of the city’s solutions for deficit account balances is to hire more consultants to help them get the finances in order. Spending more to get spending under control is very un-Republican of them.

    • Absolutely! I see in the Courier that Russ Lloyd is talking in terms of hiring freezes, workforce reduction through attrition, and job reclassification to stem the spending. He didn’t mention dog park and bike path reduction, though. Delivery of basic services is about to take a big hit in Evansville. The voters shouldn’t mind, because they spoke in favor of more of Winnecke’s “leadership.”

  3. Does anybody else remember how Winnie made fun of Gail for saying the same thing this audit says? He made her sound like a nut job. What he did to SBR was really bad and it turned out she was right to. I guess the way to tell if hes lying is if his lips are moving.

  4. Last year, the Courier & Press polled all city council candidates on a number of topics. I saved the published pages with all responses for future reference. First question: “Is the city well managed financially right now? Why or why not?” Here is the last sentence from Connie Robinson’s answer, “We need more careful financial management and a more conservative spending approach.” How did your council representative reply and what is their position now?
