FLANDERS Announces Restructure And Reduction In Workforce

EVANSVILLE, IN, USA

FLANDERS announced today a restructure of their organization, resulting in a global workforce reduction of approximately 80 employees. The majority of employees affected are concentrated in the Evansville area.

“We are sensitive to the impact this restructure and workforce reduction will have on FLANDERS’ employees, their families, and the communities they serve.”

      • I recall you stating a few weeks ago that you wish that the coal industry would go way. You’re seeing your dream come true.

        • The sooner the better. There will be collateral damage. Maybe the churches can step in to help the displaced.

          • I know it powers my computers and other things including my neighbor’s wife’s, uh, appliances. Renewable technologies have ripened enough to lessen our dependency on coal in a significant way. My investments, since you brought them up, began weaning off coal some time ago.

Coal has big money lobbyists behind it’s grimy face. It will eventually go but it will go kicking and screaming. Merrily coating lungs as it heads for the door and generally being as filthy and nasty as it’s always been.

It will always have it’s supporters, like you. You remember that, I will.

          • And just what is going to replace coal and oil?

Smart people like me will support both fossil fuels and alternate technology until a safer alternative can be found. Grinches will find a way of pointing a crooked finger at the Christian community.

          • The US is addicted to fossil fuels and it is past time to make war on it. I’m guessing you are all for ending far less dangerous addictions, like heroine.

          • So everytime you fill your car up, turn on a light, cook your supper, watch television paint your house, drive on a paved road…..it is equivalent to a heroin addiction? That’s silly I would strip myself of all of my oil and coal addictions, but no one wants to see me walking around naked outside. It’s ugly.

I think what we need is a commonsense approach rather than your and Bandana’s nuclear option…although nuclear is a feasible option.

    • Why would one blame Republicans. We have a democrat president and city council. The goodaforementioned and governor can only do so much to stem the bleeding. The Congress has tried to stop the president at every turn, but he rules like a dictator. OWN YOUR FAILURE BOB!

  1. Flanders has been slow to react to market realities. While the reduction of coal has been a problem, I think some bad choices have been made along the way also. I hope Paterson’s decision can save this great company.
