CCO INFORMATION ABOUT MISPLACED ABSENTEE BALLOTS IS CORRECT
The City County Observer recently (a couple of days before the election) informed our readers, from a reliable source that around 400 absentee ballots were either rejected or wasn’t being counted in the final election results. Â Representatives from the Democratic party approached County Clerk Debbie Stucki and she reassured them that the information concerning the 400 missing mailing ballots had no merit amd the CCO din’t know what there talking about.
It is now obvious that the information provided to the City County Observer was accurate. Â This incident coupled with the other mistake made by the election office when they forgot too put stamps on return mailing ballots will cause County Clerk Debbie Stucki some major re-election problems.
THIS IS A BREAKING STORY AND WE SHALL UPDATE Â YOU WHEN WEÂ RECEIVEÂ MORE INFORMATION.
ATTACHED BELOW IS AN OFFICIAL E-MAIL SENT TO US BY COUNTY CLERK DEBBIE STUCKI
Through the post-election audit process we have identified 379 ballots from the 5th Ward that were not included in Tuesdays unofficial results. These ballots were inadvertently not removed from locked storage and therefore not included in the unofficial election results. These ballots will be reviewed on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 9:00. Election results are unofficial until the County Election Board certifies them 10 days after the Election. The Election results will be certified on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 1:00.
Thank you,
Debbie Stucki, Secretary
County Election Board
The Democrat HQ “rumor” was 400 4th ward absentee ballots had been rejected before election day. Somehow the Election office failed to open and count 5th ward absentee ballots on election day. Quite disappointing. But, it shouldn’t change any races.
Justin Elpers, the Republican candidate for City Council in the 5th Ward, carried the ward by 63%. In order for me to be certified as the winner of this election, I would need to receive at least 85% of these absentee ballots, which is an unlikely scenario. While I expect including these ballots would tighten up the race a bit, I am not going to hold my breath and Laura should not lose any sleep over this news. I congratulated her on her win earlier this week, and I’m not planning on taking it back.
Mr. Strouth, that was a very respectful and classy post regarding your opponent. I don’t know you, but I have gained respect for you.
He’s a good man. That is why I voted for him.
Me too. Actually met him at the polls.
You are too nice. Demand a recount.
Good thing Stucki is not going is not going to run for County Clerk again. She would lose my a big margin. She has done much of anything right since she has had that office.
Ridiculous
Agreed. How do they screw that up.
The point here is that this election was not properly conducted. It appears to me that those 389 ballots were held in reserve in case things had been closer. I suppose it is possible that those ballots could change the Clerk’s race and perhaps the Council-At-Large winners. The chances are that they won’t.
The problem is that the election was conducted in a sloppy way, and that isn’t going to encourage more voters to cast ballots.
Losing votes should be a crime.
I strongly suspect there was sabotage by an insider.
Quick note: Stucki is a Republican. That is all.
Amen
I have been curious for some time as to the misplaced absentee votes that could’ve tipped the scales for Steve Davis vs Missy Mosby.
Missy Mosby is a DINO (Democrat In Name Only).
Can’t dishonur uncle Red mosby, dont cha know?
Exactly Republicans find the ballots and let them be counted, if it was a democrat they would have thrown them away quietly with no chance to be cpunted.
Wonder if they had any hanging chads?
Just a complete sloppy job of mishandling the vote count . The Republican Party will do anything to win . Maybe we need a State Police investigation on the whole process.
