Berry Plastics Prices IPO at $16: Stock Symbol to be BERY

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Today, Berry Plastics Group, Inc. (Berry Plastics) announced that it has priced an initial public offering of 29,411,764 shares of its common stock at $16.00 per share. The common shares are expected to begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange on October 4, 2012, under the ticker symbol “BERY.” The underwriters have the option to purchase up to an additional 4,411,764 common shares from Berry Plastics, at the same price. The offering is expected to close on or about October 9, 2012 subject to customary closing conditions.

BofA Merrill Lynch, Citigroup, Barclays, Deutsche Bank Securities, Credit Suisse, Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Baird are acting as joint book-running managers for the offering.

Lazard Capital Markets, Wells Fargo Securities, SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, Lebenthal & Co., LLC and Apollo Global Securities are acting as co-managers for the offering.

    Berry Plastics Group Inc. (BERY), the packaging company owned by Apollo Global Management LLC (APO), raised $471 million in its initial public offering, pricing the shares at the low end of the marketed range.

    Berry sold 29.4 million shares for $16 each, according to a statement from the company, after offering the shares for $16 to $18 apiece. The stock will start trading today on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol BERY. The shares sold in the IPO represent a 26 percent stake. …….(more)
