ANNOUNCING THE 2021 – 2022 BROADWAY IN EVANSVILLE SEASON

Evansville, IN – The Old National Events Plaza and Nederlander National Markets are thrilled to announce the return of Broadway with our 2021-2022 Broadway in Evansville season. This season features the two-time Tony® nominated hit, ANASTASIA, based on the movie of the same name, the record-breaking musical spectacular CATS, the newly staged production of the Tony® Award-winning Fiddler on the Roof, and the eight-time Tony® Award-winning Hairspray. Subscriptions are on sale now for renewing and new full season ticket packages.

“We are so excited to announce that Broadway in Evansville is BACK,” said Alexis Berggren, General Manager of Old National Events Plaza.  “The Aiken Theatre has long served as the home for national Broadway tours in our community, and to mark this special return, we have an exciting season offering something for everyone.  We can’t wait to welcome our subscribers and patrons back to the theatre this year, and we even have some surprises in store.”

Beginning in August, box office hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10am – 5pm.

Being a Broadway in Evansville subscriber offers exclusive benefits including reserved seats of your selection for each performance, advanced renewal for reserved seats each year, and the opportunity to upgrade seats first!  This year, our opening performance will also feature a private VIP Subscriber Reception as a thank you and welcome back to our loyal Broadway audiences.  Subscribers also receive additional special ticket offers and the chance to purchase tickets to add-on shows before the general public. Tickets are mailed to each subscriber prior to the performance to avoid box office lines and lost ticket insurance is included at no additional charge.

Inspired by the beloved films, the romantic and adventure-filled new musical ANASTASIA is on a journey to Evansville at last!

From the Tony Award®-winning creators of the Broadway classic Ragtime, this dazzling show transports us from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. Pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her, Anya enlists the aid of a dashing conman and a lovable ex-aristocrat. Together, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find home, love, and family.

ANASTASIA features a book by celebrated playwright Terrence McNally, a lush new score by Stephen Flaherty (music) and Lynn Ahrens (lyrics) with direction by Tony Award® winner Darko Tresnjak.

CATS: November 30, 2021

CATS, the record-breaking musical spectacular by Andrew Lloyd Webber that has captivated audiences in over 30 countries and 15 languages, is now on tour across North America!

Audiences and critics alike are rediscovering this beloved musical with breathtaking music, including one of the most treasured songs in musical theater—”Memory”. FIDDLER ON THE ROOF: Tony®-winning director Bartlett Sher and the team behind South Pacific, The King and I and 2017 Tony-winning Best Play Oslo, bring a fresh and authentic vision to this beloved theatrical masterpiece from Tony winner Joseph Stein and Pulitzer Prize winners Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick.

The original production won ten Tony Awards, including a special Tony for becoming the longest-running Broadway musical of all time. You’ll be there when the sun rises on this new production, with stunning movement and dance from acclaimed Israeli choreographer Hofesh Shechter, based on the original staging by Jerome Robbins. Join 16-year-old Tracy Turnblad in 1960’s Baltimore as she sets out to dance her way onto TV’s most popular show. Can a girl with big dreams (and even bigger hair) change the world?
