Aces Baseball gets set for midweek matchup with Eastern Illinois

Following a fourth straight winning weekend, the University of Evansville baseball team plays host to Eastern Illinois Wednesday night at Charles H. Braun Stadium.

The Aces, who comes into this matchup with a mark of 9-7, are coming off a weekend that saw them dominate a potent Creighton squad, out-scoring the Bluejays 18-1 in the first two games of the three-game series. Evansville dropped the series finale on Sunday, 10-4. At the plate, UE is led by senior outfielder Nate Reeder, who’s batting at a .369 clip, with three home runs and 12 RBIs. Freshman second baseman DannyBorgstrom is second on the team in batting average at .308, with a team-high 14 RBIs.

Eastern Illinois, of the Ohio Valley Conference, comes into Braun Stadium with a record of 8-11, having bounced back from dropping a series to Murray State over the weekend by shutting out Butler on the road Tuesday afternoon, 2-0.

First pitch from Charles H. Braun Stadium is at 6 p.m. Wednesday night.
