Accident on Veterans Memorial PKWY

 Around 1:15 a.m. on October 14, a vehicle going the wrong direction in the eastbound lanes of Veterans Memorial PKWY collided head on with another vehicle around Waterworks Rd.  A third vehicle was also hit after the initial collision. 

   Both drivers of the wrong way vehicle and the vehicle struck head on had to be removed by the Evansville Fire Department by way of extrication and were taken to the hospital for seemingly serious injuries.

   The third driver reported no injuries.  A passenger from the wrong way vehicle and the vehicle struck were also taken to be checked for minor injuries. In total, 4 people were transported to the hospital.

  Evansville Police Department’s Detectives, Crime Scene and Accident Reconstructionist all responded to the accident scene. The accident scene was released around 3:45 a.m.

  Conditions of the drivers and passengers that were transported to the hospital are not known at this time.
