  1. I believe they are changing, and finally, for the better! CCO and its supporters should lead the charge.

  2. EKB: “I believe they are changing, and finally, for the better! Some places things are. need to keep working on that though.”

    Someplaces;

    http://www.cbsnews.com/news/epa-reaches-deal-with-duke-energy-on-coal-ash-spill-cleanup/

“Separately, North Carolina lawmakers are debating a measure about what to do with Duke’s 33 ash dumps at 14 power plants in North Carolina, which are located along rivers and lakes that cities and towns rely on for drinking water. State environmental officials say all of Duke’s unlined waste pits, which contain more than 100 million tons of ash, are contaminating groundwater.”

Google earth the Ohio up and downstream of Evansville then ask “Wait a minute!”

    Yep, Built for climate change….alright?

    • I know that in the long run, things aren’t getting better, V. Just in this one little spot for awhile, I think Evansville politics is improving. Maybe it will spread, but I really wonder if it will go far enough, quick enough. I’m surely not going to invest in any beachfront property!

      • EKB: Actually one doesn’t have to be beach front to feel affect of Chemical incursions to the Ohio River Drainage Basin. The W. Virginia chemical spill spotlighted that problem for the ESWD this winter.
Our team had good usable data return on that incident due some test points there. We concluded the ESWD did a bang up job with the timing and infrastructure they actually had to work with.

Very commendable for the people who worked through that mess. You were close to strict usage advisories. It should be actionable due the cause it cost them and the city in hours on the job no one can plan for.
That compiled with the extreme temperature swings and the main breaks would whack most older archaic infrastructures off the supply grid for a detrimental period for the customers. Didn’t do that in Evansville, however that was due the work they put in, they didn’t get any help from the planet.

We did see some concern in the lower southeast side however. Some sites there had unusually high petroleum distillates in the water supplies for an unacceptable period of time. They did however have low pressure breakage and usage warnings out as best they could then. You see our data indicated someplace either has or had a pretty large fuel tank leak rate going on when a locally nearby water main pressure was down to an lesser surrounding pressure. Probably due a mainline break from the weather conditions. That was located along riverside east to Green River road and north to covert and south to Pollack avenue as well. There was a high concentration near that intersection in question for zoning change at Weinbach and Pollack, that took some time before it flushed free of contaminations from the confidential testing site.
We advised our people not to drink it, cook, or water pets with it until restored flow pressures did clear it up.
There is a unused old service station site nearby they should be checked out as well as the ones near Covert and Weinbach, including, down close to Riverside and Judson street as that area showed some incursion during the same timing periods.

Another real tight concern on coal fields and those over washes that has surfaced during our monitoring is Pigeon Creek backwater incursion carried from a cross county drainage basin in Warrick. The old Squall creek area during extreme rain events loads the erosion based chemical incursions to the creek. When the back waters go down guess where it leaves those, yup, you guessed it Vanderburgh and Evansville anyplace the water has crested and slowly moved downstream to the actual Ohio river itself.

This is the nothing but planning innovation per the viability for Clean water supplies due too our planets changing climate. We have to learn to deal with it forward. Won’t get any better unless action is taken.

Its the populations health and that of a region. As the planet changes we can change with it. We must.

Like the Whitehouse is saying everyday, that’s going to take people, science, industries, logistics and new infrastructures and the good jobs to be created with the working balance for better things ahead, so,it IS sustainable into the rest of the century.

        • Some sixty-plus years ago my uncle managed that Red Bird gas station. Once a week my father took $20 and bought two cartons of Lucky Strikes, one for him and one for my mother, and filled the tank with gas. He’d always get a sack of 12 hamburgers for $1 from the Hottle House at Riverside and Governor. He usually brought home a dozen doughnuts from the Ideal Doughnut Shop next door to the Hottle House.
There was a gas station at Riverside and Governor, too.

  3. High time we made a stand & shook up the views of the common man
And the love train rides from coast to coast
DJ’s the man we love the most
Could you be, could you be squeaky clean
And smash any hope of democracy
As the headline says you’re free to choose
There’s egg on your face and mud on your shoes
One of these days they’re gonna call in the ruse, yeah

(Sowing the seeds of love) anything is possible
(Seeds of love) when you’re sowing the seeds of love
    (Sowing the seeds of love)
(Sowing the seeds of love) anything is possible
(Seeds of love) sowing the seeds of love (Sowing the seeds)

I spy tears in their eyes
They look to the skies for some kind of divine intervention
Food goes to waste, so nice to eat, so nice to taste
    Politicians with your high ideals
Have you no idea how the majority feels
So without love and a promised land
We’re fools to the rules of a government plan
Kick out the style, bring back the jam

(Sowing the seeds of love) anything (seeds of love)
(Sowing the seeds of love) (Sowing the seeds of love, seeds of love)
Sowing the seeds, the birds and the bees, my girlfriend and me in love

Feel the pain, talk about it, if you’re a worried man then shout about it
Open hearts, feel about it, open minds, think about it
Everyone read about it, everyone scream about it
    Everyone (everyone, yeah yeah)
Everyone (everyone) read about it, read about it
Read it in the books in the crannies
And the nooks there are books to read…Chorus!!!

(Sowing the seeds of love) Oh, the seeds of love
We’re sowing the seeds, sowing the seeds

  4. Let me try again. I hope John Friend listen to this song because its time for a change. He must be voted out of office. Enough is enough of his back room political wheeling and dealing.

  5. Read in todays Courier and Press a letter to the Editor sent in by a David Robinson concerning Al Lindsey. He took Mr. Lindsey to task because Al wore shorts and tee at Ms. Riley’s press conference. Why didn’t Mr. Robinson take on John Friend for being arrested for dunking boating?

    • You’re mudding comment isn’t any better than they’res “pot calling out kettle” and caused our analytic to set an additional data point as well as the other one under you.
I’ve been boating for a long time all over this country “dunking boating” is a new one on me unless you want to go out and gunnel jump a canoe with a ole buddy of mine. Now that’s dunking boating… 😉

You don’t dislike John Friend cause he drinks while he’s on his boat!
You dislike him cause his interview on the mainframe media showed he might be a “two bit political asshole” Spit it out!

Show us some personal fortitude yourself. “Oar-face”

      • Hey!! How does a middle age guy like me get on a boat like that? Well…… at least get on a boat like that without being met at door by the Mrs. with a 2X4 in one hand and a leash with raging pit in the other hand. 🙂

On a more serious note, ahhh yeah a sellout to the machine. I guess Mr. Friend decided that since he was the the was finance chair in 2011 and the auditors were about to give him the accounting thrashing of his life. He decided the only way to save his sorry political ass was to rat out SBR and throw his lot in with the machine and see if he could survive the blowback from the CCO and the public that should inevitably happen.

        • Friend is just plain bogus. He just showed that to the world in the way he handled this situation, but I had him spotted a long time ago.

        • Brains: Here’s a good place start, leave the pit with the dude that steals the parking spot, and you’re wife at the ford center

Actually saw Blake perform live about 20 feet in front of us, when he first started out he was second act attraction with Willie Nelson the headliner of the show.
The performance was outside under the stars with thousands of people having a real good time! That was an absolute blast!

The “Some Beach” was at Mesker Amphitheater in Evansville must have been 10,000-15,000 or more people having a ball up there. Now like the infrastructure downtown its all been let go to hell. Its shot right square in the ass like most cool things evansville once sported. Too bad.

  6. I hope Mr. Friends primary opponent take him to task on his being arrested for being drunk while boating. I hope his primary opponent post his mug shot all over his political bill boards.

    • First he has to have an opponent. Next the opponent has to have the money for the ad campaign you propose. Last the opponent had better not have any skeletons in his own closet.

  7. Hey Credible Source sorry his opponent has no skeletons in his closet but Mr. Friend does. Let the campaign begin.

      • dibble, We’ve just heard who that candidate is “this is gonna be good”.
Might have to send them some of our political sourcing data points.
It’ll insure you’re cheap sells utter destruction at the polls.
Didn’t know politics could be this much of an rewarding science projection, this is going to get better. I’m still holding out for Mr. Ed and Wilbur though. “Apples is Apples” And empty feed bags don’t get one many votes.
Our photographic facial expression data base binged us back to a city council meeting with some similar facial recognition and stature profiling. Something about Wilbur’s face and that way he leans on the barn door when he’s trying to pass a load of BS or use ole Ed for one of mechanical schemes. Gotta keep an EYE on that old Ed though pretty slick horse, seems like he wouldn’t be to swift on the track, however all races don’t happen around tracks…wait a minute?

  8. The “Times Are Really Changing” in Vanderburgh County. Bruce Ungethiem and John Montraselle crashes the Wayne Parke, Marsha Abell and Lloyd Winnenke political machine by a large margin.

This part of post taken down because it was to personal.
