CHARLESTON, Ill.- University of Southern Indiana Men’s and Women’s Track and Field finished day three of the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championships on Saturday. The men earned five points placing ninth while the women tallied 22 points in tenth place.
Freshman Zoe Seward (Rochester, Indiana) continued her dominant weekend into day three with a third-place podium finish in the 5,000-meter dash. This marks Seward’s second podium finish of the weekend with a time of 17:32.47, tallying six points to the team score. Junior Katie Winkler (Santa Claus, Indiana) placed 12th among the field of 26 with a time of 18:24.28.
Sophomore Emily Rempe (Owensboro, Kentucky) and junior Emma Thompson (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) competed in the 1,500-meter finals after qualifying on Thursday. Rempe was fantastic placing fifth in the event with a time of 4:39.69. Rempe broke her own personal record and the Eagles season best 1,500-meter time. She improved her time by 4.85 seconds from Thursday’s prelims. Thompson finished her finals race in 11th place with a time of 4:50.78.
Junior Brady Terry (Philpot, Kentucky) dazzled in the 1,500-meter finals after qualifying on Thursday. The junior finished in sixth place earning three points for the Eagles with a time of 3:55.63. Terry improved his time from Thursday night by nearly seven seconds to finish the season strong.
Senior Mitchell Hopf (Santa Claus, Indiana) finished his storied career at USI with an 11th place finish in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 15.19.77. Freshman Alex Nolan (Evansville, Indiana) holds a strong future as he finished in 13th with a time 15:23.76.
