  1. I like how supposedly “temples to sports” are to blame for this city being miserable yet all of these cities except the two that only have 45k residents have some type of sports facility…

    10. Only has 45k residents
    9. Washington D.C Metro- Verizon Center, FedEx Field, Nationals Park
    8. Ann Arbor- Crisler Arena, Yost Ice Arena, Michigan Stadium ( The Big House; largest American style football stadium in the world)
    7. Neal Blaisdell Center, Aloha Stadium
    6. Only 45k residents; See Boston
    5. Moby Arena, Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium
    4. Marriott Center, LaVell Edwards Stadium
    3. Centennial Field
    2. Folsom Field, Coors Events Center

And #1 Lincoln, NE has Memorial Stadium and Bob Devaney Sports Center AND Pinnacle Bank Arena which was approved directly by the voters via referendum…

You can argue that UE and/or USI should be footing a whole lot more of the bill than the city. You cannot argue that this city building a sports facility or maintaining its old one is an unheard of practice that is the sole reason for this city being in the gutter.

On a another side note, Ann Arbor (#8) has a city approved green belt implemented. Me thinks the better planned cities are where people want to live.
