On December 1st, SWIRCA & More will take part in the global movement # GivingTuesday to kick off our fundraising campaign for our Activity Center. We were recently notified that the City of Evansville will reduce their long-standing support of our Senior Center by $23,245 a year. The true cost of this cut cannot be absorbed by SWIRCA. To cover the Activity Center operating cost, we must start charging a yearly $30 membership fee.
With your help, we want to offer subsidies for those who may be unable to afford the yearly fee. By helping underwrite a membership fee, you will make a difference in the life of of one of the most overlooked segments of the population; our seniors.
For this holiday season, we are asking each person to sponsor a senior, for a $30 donation, to ensure we will not have to turn anyone away.Â
