Man Shot at Sportsman’s Grille & Billards

 This morning, September 3rd, around 3:15 a.m. officers responded to 2315 W. Franklin St. (Sportsman’s Grille & Billiards) for shots fired. Officers arrived and located the victim, with a gunshot wound to the head, in front of the establishment. 

Officers were told on scene that the offender was kicked out of the bar. After he walked out of the establishment he began to argue with the victim outside. The offender then shot the victim in the face. The victim was transported to a local hospital for his injuries, where he is currently in critical condition. Witnesses were questioned on scene and were also transported to EPD headquarters reference the shooting. EPD Detectives have information on a possible suspect and the investigation is ongoing. Once an update is available it will be provided to the media. 

This afternoon, Detectives with the Evansville Police Department located the suspect, Nicholas K. McPherson (33), and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle he was a passenger in. McPherson was still wearing the same clothing from earlier this morning when the shooting occurred. McPherson was transported to EPD Headquarters and was questioned by Detectives. He was then transported to the Vanderburgh County Jail and booked in on an Attempted Murder warrant stemming from this incident
