“IS IT TRUE” JANUARY 7, 2019

12

We hope that today’s “IS IT TRUE” will provoke honest and open dialogue concerning issues that we, as responsible citizens of this community, need to address in a rational and responsible way?

IS IT TRUE that we been told that there will be a major shift in the leadership of the Evansville/Vanderburgh School Corporation school board this evening?  …if this happens it will signal the end to the school board politic of the past? …we expect that Karen Ragland will be elected President of the school board?  …Karen leadership style will be that inclusion and consensus?
IS IT TRUE are told that today Ben Trockman will announce if he intends to run for the 1st Ward City Council seat? …that the movers and shakers of the Vanderburgh Democratic party are hoping that Ben will decide to run for the 1st Ward City Council seat being vacated by Independent Dan McGinn?  …we are told that Ben has talked with many current members of City Council in order to get an idea of his responsibilities if elected to this position? …we were also told that Ben might have met with Mayor Winnecke in order to get his input if he should run for 1st Ward City Council seat? …we are perplexed why Mr. Trockman would seek the Mayor advice about running for City Council because the person he will be running against is the Mayors hand picked candidate? …many people feel if Mr. Trockman is the elected to the 1st Ward City Council seat it will show every person that is physically challenged that they can also achieve things of greatness?
IS IT TRUE that Kaitlin Moore Morley will be announcing on January 16, 2019 that she will be a Democratic candidate for the Evansville At-Large City Council seat?   …we are told that she’s extremely personable and level headed?
IS IT TRUE that on January 9 at 3:30pm at the Civic Center Mayor Winnecke’s will be officially filing for re-election?  …following this event a social gathering will be held at Party Central across from the Civic Center?
IS IT TRUE that long time Vanderburgh County Commission attorney Joe Harrison, Jr. has been replaced by Jones and Wallace law firm? …it a well known fact that the former Vanderburgh County GOP Chairman Joe Harrison, Jr. is politically connected throughout the State? …we are told that Joe Harrison, Jr. was just appointed as the new County Commission attorney for Posey County?  …this proves that sometimes its not what you know but who you know that pays off?
IS IT TRUE we are told that a Posey County Superior Court Judge is retiring? …that the Governor shall make the appointment to replace him? …we wish that Deputy  Vanderburgh County Prosecutor Gary Schutte lived in Posey County because he would make one heck of a Superior Court Judge?
IS IT TRUE that the people of Evansville’s bicentennial tree has been cut down?…the plaque at the bottom of the tree now serves as a gravestone for the magnificent tree that was a gift to the people of Evansville to commemorate a milestone?…Mole #3 tells the City County Observer that the reason the tree was cut down was to add 18 parking spaces to the mix in downtown Evansville?…that will add to the over 4,000 spaces that already are in downtown Evansville so these 18 parking spaces will have a negligible improvement to the parking if any at all?…there are those who are blaming elected officials for killing this tree but the Evansville Building Authority were the folks in charge of the land where the tree was?…this reminds us of Rick Davis’ famous characterization of Mayor Winnecke and his predecessor Jonathan Weinzapfel with his “Ready, Fire, Aim” narrative?…this time the Evansville Building Authority did the “Ready, Saw, and Don’t Think” routine and cut down a tree that was beloved by many?…it was much the same thing that could described the situation when the Evansville Building Authority discover that water magically appeared on the floor of Roberts Stadium and that proved that it needed to be torn down?
IS IT TRUE that a Vanderburgh County Council member asked several questions concerning the Drag Queen Story Hour sponsored by the public library?  …the Director of the Library and one library board member were present at the most recent County Council meeting in order to answer questions about this event?  …the Director of the Library stated that the participants of the “Drag Queen Story Hour” currently don’t need a background check to participate in this event? …members of the Vanderburgh County Council were also told that participants of this event could be in violation of the dress code policy that is strictly followed by EVPL officials?
IS IT TRUE the Vanderburgh County Assessor website shows that the park located at 400 Main St. is now owned by the Evansville City Water & Sewer Utility and they paid $$450,000 for that property?
IS IT TRUE we would like to thank Kalah Hirsch Records Specialist with the Evansville Police Department for doing an outstanding job in making the daily police reports available to the public?
Todays“Readers Poll” question is: Do you feel that Mayor Winnecke has done such a good job that he should be unopposed for re-election?

  1. Just to clarify on the 400 Main St . property. It shows the City of Evansville In. Parks & Recreation as the owner but on the transfer date of12-3-2018 it shows the City of Evansville In. Water & Sewer Utility. And of course there is no sale disclosure form which is usually available for most property transfers.

  2. The Bicentennial tree was cut down so Locust Street between Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Ninth Street could be widened. This was/is being done so local street festival events (Wine and Jazz Festival, Taco Festival, Home Show, etc.) can have an expanded area between the Old National Events Plaza and the Civic Center instead of utilizing Main Street. This will allow more events to shift away from Main Street as no one wants to disturb the Mayor’s wife and her Tucker Realty apartment and condo owners who live on gentrified Main Street.
This will also allow these events to further clog the means of egress between the Civic Center Parking Lot (a.k.a., “the Back Forty”) and the Ford Center when events are being held simultaneously on Locust Street and at the Ford Center.

    • Oh yeah, moving the 4 time per year events is worth spending millions of dollars to widen a street. This is as stupid as spending $4 million to reverse the direction of Main Street and thinking it would increase business by enough to justify spending $4 million taxpayer dollars to do so. More distract, dream, and deceive actions from the fun and games crew in the civic center.

    • Is that the same area by the Evansville Teacher’s Federal Credit Union where the old hippy anti-Trump protesters had their rally?

  3. The Bicentennial tree had a large brass plaque in the ground that states “We dedicate this oak tree as a living tribute to be enjoyed now and to benefit generations of Evansville residents.” Similar to Mesker Amphitheater. Both are now dead.

    • Will the bicentennial tree plaque be moved to Mesker Amphitheater with all the seats from the also dead Roberts Stadium? Maybe we should re-name it Mesker Cemetery.

    Allah over America

Consider Nikki Randhawa, a Sikh who represented the very best of America when she was the United States ambassador to the United Nations. Most of us know her as Nikki Haley. Her marriage to Michael Haley was a “measure of respect for their individual backgrounds – the colorful Sikh ritual was followed by the Methodist ceremony.” Her husband is an officer in the South Carolina National Guard. She was a governor of South Carolina – clearly two proud Americans who serve their country with distinction.

Reflect now on the newly elected Democratic Muslim women who embody the creeping sharia that is enveloping the world. Ilhan Omar (Minnesota) used American immigration law to her advantage by marrying her brother in 2009. The “motivation for the marriage points to possible immigration fraud and student loan fraud. What’s more she swore to apparent falsehoods in court.”

Tashida Tlaib (Michigan) has vociferously called for the impeachment of Donald Trump. According to Tlaib “President Donald Trump is a direct and serious threat to our country.” She asserts that “[o]n an almost daily basis, he attacks our Constitution, our democracy, the rule of law and the people who are in this country. His conduct has created a constitutional crisis that we must confront now.”

The Democrats can always be counted on to project what they are actually engaging in.

It is they who are creating the constitutional crisis, not the other way around. In addition, both these women show their absolute animus for Israel….

  5. Sure seems like President Trump feels highly insecure. Like a guy who is scared. He’s gaining weight and getting fat too. Not good.
