Evansville, IN – State Representative Gail Riecken, candidate for Mayor of Evansville, announced today the hiring of senior staff for her campaign.

Jason Ascher, a veteran campaign operative, who has worked on nearly 20 campaigns all across the country, will be the campaign manager. Jason has managed winning campaigns at the local, mayoral, and state legislative level. Most recently he re-elected the incumbent Dallas County Judge (County Executive) and has elected the last two mayors of Edison, New Jersey. He has also worked for multiple Democratic state party organizations and brings an expertise in field, finance, and communications.

Bob Doyle, a very experienced consultant with a national portfolio of clients, will be the campaign’s general consultant where he will advise on overall strategy and communications. Bob is Vice President of Main Street Communications; a Democratic media firm that has helped elect mayors in places like Louisville, St. Louis and Cleveland. Bob was media strategist and general consultant for Indiana Sen. Joe Donnelly during his years in the U.S. House of Representatives and was senior strategist on the Senator’s 2012 statewide campaign. Main Street will also be media consultant for the Riecken campaign.

“Jason and Bob are very experienced, aggressive campaign professionals,” said Riecken. “I am very fortunate to have them bring their expertise to my campaign for Mayor. I’ve asked them to put together the most aggressive and sophisticated campaign that Evansville has ever seen. The stakes in this election are very high for the people of Evansville, so it is critical we fight and win this campaign on their behalf.”

“We will be focused on taking Rep. Riecken’s message of fiscal responsibility and total transparency at the Civic Center to the voters of Evansville,” said Jason. “She has an incredibly broad and dedicated group of supporters and friends who I am looking forward to getting to know and organizing into a ground force for this election. “

    1. Ms. Riecken hired an out-of-state “campaign operative” to help get out her “message of fiscal responsibility and total transparency”. Really?

    2. What kind of message does it send to Evansville voters when Gail Riecken, the Democrat Mayor Candidate, hires two out of State people to run her campaign? Is it because Gail is use to working out of State (Illinois)? No Democrat talent in Indiana? Is this an indication of her decision making abilities?

      • Let me get this right Wayne: you’ll accept labor’s money and support, but mock people who actually support labor?

      • My, My . . .why does Winnecke have “Wayne’s World” as his junk yard attach dog? What a hypocrite while Winnecke sits in room 302 commonly referred to as Santa’s Workshop together with Christmas Carol and Elf Kelley . . .when Winnecke’s campaign coordinator-manager is from OUT-OF-TOWN . . .and his BIG DONORS are from OUT OF TOWN . . .and what is so pitiful? Winnecke sends most of the taxpayer’s money for services OUT OF TOWN. . .

      • Wow . . .when Winnecke decided to go forward with the Downtown Convention Motel (Now) he calls up his friend Bob Koch and jump onto his $52,000,000 jet together with his political cronies heading for Branson, MO to again send our money OUT OF TOWN . . .it the Chinese could build this Motel Lloyd Romney would be all over it . . .

      • Hey Wayne . . .while you were the Treasurer (THE MONEY-BAG MAN) for the Republican Party and Mr. Hermann was the chairman . . .WHY DID HE FIRE YOU??? Inquiries minds want to KNOW . . .

        • Why would anybody have respect for Park? it is alleged that Robert Musgrave, Attorney resigned as Treasurer of the local GOP. I wonder WHY? Was it because Mr. Musgrave felt that the $10,000 contribution to Marsha Abell’s campaign was handed contrary to state campaign contribution laws? oh,is there any truth that Mr. Musgrave filed a formal complaint against Mr. Park with the State election Commission about this traansaction?

      • Guess you forgot that your boy Winnecke has spent $23,000 with Public Opinion Strategies LLC out of Virginia & Texas. Guess he can’t find any Republican talent in Indiana for Public Opinion Research?

    3. I’m not a fan of either candidate, or Mr Parke, but I must admit, he has a good point here.

    4. Embarrassing comments so far. They just underscore the emptiness of Lloyd Winnecke’s campaign and the vacuity of his supporters. His record is one of abject failure. His appointments while serving as accidental mayor speak volumes for his ‘decision-making’ abilities. The guy is a cipher, a failed weatherman. Time for him to go.

      • Winnie is a failure and a tax spending disgrace that much is true. But we have nothing from Gail on what she plans to do to stop these horrendous missteps taken by the current administration. She, like most, democrats talks in generalities and platitudes. Until she can give out the meat and potatoes of her plans for singe, she is no better a candidate than the idiot we currently have. I am willing to give her a chance, but not until she can show some planning and leadership. Not whining and running away like she has in the past.

    5. Reviewing Santa Lloyd’s campaign report . . .Do you know how to spot the out of town donors? Just look for donations exceeding $5,000 . . .

    6. Parke long ago lost any credibility. He is riding a flawed horse and knows it (my God, he’s riding side saddle). The 3rd tier will be here shortly to bleat Urbana. They have nothing, no real accomplishments to cite, nothing. They will try to put a Palin-style gloss on the dismal failure of a mayor that hangs like a pall over Evansville with results about like Palin got minus the big book deal. It is understandable why it is so important that they get him re-installed. They need another term to shred documents, ax hard drives and finish picking the bones of this city.

    7. Any “in-Town” campaign officer or director would be tainted by the recent local Democratic in-fighting, regardless of who was picked. Further, it’s not as if E-Ville has an abundance of successful campaign managers.

Wayne Parke knows this and is just being his usual self. I’m not sure what the other poster’s excuse is.

      • You’re 100% correct on both points, BB. I think the idea of competent people with a broad point of view running Gail’s campaign is terrifying to Wayne and Winnie. Spending money on professionals instead of cronies is not anything they want to do.
