MILL SPRINGS, NC. – University of Southern Indiana Women’s Golf opened the season at the Bright Creek Intercollegiate, hosted by Gardner-Webb University. The event featured four NCAA Division I schools that included three rounds of play on Saturday and Sunday. The Screaming Eagles finished the three rounds in fourth place.

The final standings of Intercollegiate was host Gardner-Webb, Presbyterian College, North Carolina A&T, and USI. The Eagles put themselves in a hole after a day one score of 360 as a team. USI made a massive improvement in round two with a team score of 339. Finally, they finished on Sunday with a score of 341.

USI was represented by senior Halle Gutwein (DeMotte, Indiana), senior Katelyn Sayyalinh (Rockford, Illinois), junior Baileigh Schneider (Huntingburg, Indiana), and freshman Alexis Wymer (Bridgeport, Illinois).

Gutwein led the Eagles with a 17th place finish at +40 on the weekend. Schneider was right behind her with a 19th place finish at +41.
