EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Men’s Golf’s senior Zach Williams (Mt. Vernon, Illinois) was named the Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week after his performance at the Ernie Denham Classic.Â
This is Williams’ fourth career weekly honor and second since joining the OVC. He earned his first OVC Golfer of the Week award after his second-place finish at the TVA Community Credit Union Invitational. Â
Williams helped lead the Screaming Eagles to a tie for second place at the Ernie Denham Classic this past week in Louisville, Kentucky. He finished the tournament in a tie for third after tying a career-low 54-hole score of 211 (-5). Williams recorded his last 211 in 2018 at the Murray State Invitational as a freshman. His 211 also ties a USI record, also the second time a USI athlete has shot that low this season. Williams would also record the most birdies out of anyone in the field with 15.Â
The tie for third was Williams’ third top-five finish of the year, bringing his career total to seven top-five finishes.Â
