Williams Named OVC Golfer Of The Week

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana senior Zach Williams (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) was named the co-Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week after placing second in the TVA Community Credit Union Invitational. The honor, which was shared with Tennessee Tech University’s Jackson Skeen, is Williams’ second weekly honor of his career and his first OVC award.
 
Williams posted a three-round one-under to take second in the University of North Alabama’s invitational in Killen, Alabama. North Alabama hosted the tournament at the Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club.
 
Williams concluded the 36-hole tournament with a 215 (70-73-72) and finished one stroke off the pace set by Mississippi State University’s Austin Vukovits’ 214 (68-75-71). The USI senior, which ranks fourth in the OVC in strokes per round (71.8), had 12 birdies over the three rounds, while posting one eagle during the second round.
 
USI, which tied for 5th of 10 teams in the invitational as a team, completes the fall portion of the season October 29-30 in the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational at The Pearl Club in Owensboro, Kentucky.
