Williams leads Eagles at Flyer Intercollegiate

The University of Southern Indiana men’s golf team finished 13th of 18 teams on Monday at the Flyer Intercollegiate, hosted by Lewis University.

The Screaming Eagles opened the two-day event with a team round of 309 for seventh of the 18 before a second-day 327 dropped USI to its final result.

Sophomore Zach Williams (Mt. Vernon, Illinois) posted the top two rounds for the Eagles with a 74 (+2) first-round score followed by a 77 (+5) to end the event.

Senior Zach Breault (Bridgeport, Illinois) and junior Nate Caudle (Wayne City, Illinois) each posted a 77 in the first round, tying the second-best individual round for the Eagles, on their way to being second and third, respectively for USI.

USI Men’s Golf heads further west next week for the Midwest Regional at Fox Run, hosted by the University of Missouri-St. Louis. The Eagles will tee-off from Eureka, Missouri on Monday.
