What Term To Use “Mom” Or “Birthing Parent ”A Ridiculous Push By The “Woke Agenda”

The push by the left to force their “Woke Ideology” upon America has now reached a point that can only be described as “Ridiculous Insanity”.

The largest teachers union, The National Education Association, is proposing that the word “mother” should be changed on forms and contracts, to the more “inclusive” wording of “birthing mother”.

I can almost guarantee you that this insane “Wokeness” will be on next year’s Mother’s Day cards. Take heed Hallmark and American Greetings, I do not want to be offended next year with any cards titled “Happy Mother’s Day”. Nope, I will accept nothing on the shelves but cards entitled “Happy Birthing Parent Day”. 

“The National Education Associations” reasoning is the term “birthing parent” is much more inclusive in today’s society, more specifically for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Looking at the above abbreviation, the first thing that came to mind is that we are about to run out of the alphabet. I admit needing to access the internet when I first saw the term “LGBTQIA+ community”.

The string of denotations basically stands for people identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and the + is for other orientations and those that just don’t know!

Now I admit to growing up in a simpler time, back when basic biology decreed among the human species, the female of the species was responsible for giving birth, and the term “mother” was an acceptable 

Identifying moniker.  

Now the “woke thinking” is the term “mom” or “mother” is now no longer inclusive enough.  

Really? I have to digress on the term “birthing parent” being more inclusive, because, in fact, many “parents” may find the term more exclusive.  

. Following this scenario, I’m filling out a form for my child, it’s requesting the name of the “birthing parent” instead of “mother”. What if my child is adopted, who do I list as the “birthing parent”? What if my child was born through the use of a surrogate, who is listed as the “birthing parent”? 

Perhaps, because of circumstances, I’m female and raising the children of another family member who is not in the picture, possibly deceased, and the form is asking the name of “birthing parent” instead of “mother”.

Let’s reverse this “woke thinking”. My wife and I used a sperm donor, the form asked for the name of the “father”? To be inclusive, shouldn’t the form instead ask “Name Of Sperm Donor”? See my point?

Perhaps I’m “old school”, I always felt the term “mom” or “mother” was reflective that a woman has accomplished something quite special in her life, whether you actually gave birth to that child is irrelevant, you are raising that child as their “mother”, I believe that term should suffice.
