The University of Southern Indiana will host “Human Traffic in America: The Exploitation and Disenfranchisement of Black, Indigenous and Victims of Color†at 5 p.m. Wednesday, January 26 via Zoom. The Zoom link can be accessed at Calendar.usi.edu. The presentation is free and open to the public.
Laura Donatelli-Bow, Region 6 Coalition Coordinator for the Indiana Trafficking Victims Assistance Program (ITVAP), will present on the vulnerabilities and risk factors associated with human trafficking and the marginalization and stigmas associated with society’s perception of human trafficking.
In her role at ITVAP, Donatelli-Bow, a graduate of Indiana University’s School of Global and International Studies, serves 14 counties in East Central Indiana by providing human trafficking education, network building and referrals for identified victims and survivors of both sex and labor trafficking. Prior to joining ITVAP, she worked with refugees both in the United States and abroad as a volunteer and interpreter, and a translator in criminal cases in Tippecanoe County, Indiana, where she aided in interpretation and translation for victims and families.
This event is presented by ITVAP, Southwest Indiana Regional Coalition Against Trafficking (SIRCAT), USI Sexual Assault and Gender Violence Prevention Group (SAGVP), the USI College of Liberal Arts and Gamma Phi Omega, International Sorority, Inc. Stellar Psi Chapter.
