VINCENNES, Ind., March 11, 2024 – In a celebration of leadership and commitment to women’s professional development and advancement in higher education, Whitney Daugherty, Assistant Provost of Student Affairs at Vincennes University, was honored with the inaugural Rising Woman Leader Award by the American Council on Education Women’s Network of Indiana.
She was honored at the ACE-WIN annual conference in Indianapolis on Feb. 23 in Indianapolis.
Daugherty’s professional journey is a testament to the power of dedication and persistence in the pursuit of one’s passions. During her career, she has worn many hats and served in various roles, including Academic Advisor, Assessment Coordinator, Assistant Director of Career Services, Director of Student Activities, and finally Assistant Provost.
The Rising Woman Leader Award recognizes Daugherty’s exceptional upward trajectory in leadership roles and her dedication and advocacy. She stands out as a leader with great promise, actively contributing to the ACE Women’s Network mission of inspiring, developing, and supporting women leaders in higher education through her role as Assistant Provost and the VU ACE-WIN Institutional Representative.
Reflecting on her achievement, Daugherty expressed gratitude. “I am deeply honored to receive the Rising Woman Leader Award,” she said. “This underscores the collective efforts towards fostering an inclusive community that empowers women in higher education. Together, we can continue to transform and elevate our academic institutions.”
VU Provost Dr. Laura Treanor congratulated Daugherty, recognizing her outstanding contributions to the University community.
