VU Conservation Law students will participate in a grueling 24-hour exercise known as the “Green Mile” putting their physical and mental endurance plus course knowledge to the test.
Led by VU Conservation Law Enforcement Program Chair and retired Indiana Conservation Officer Eric Doane, students will test their field skills (survival, shelter building, fire building, and map & compass) at Robeson Hills. They will participate in water survival training at the VU Aquatic Center and a fitness assessment at the VU Track and Field Complex. They will also engage in real-world scenarios at Kimmell Park or Ouabache Trails Park. The students will be in the field and doing a mock search and rescue operation in the overnight hours.
