Vectren Announces Key Leadership Changes

As part of the company’s ongoing succession planning, today Vectren Corporation (NYSE: VVC) Chairman, President and CEO Carl Chapman announced organizational changes that will transition a number of key vice presidents into new roles and name a new senior vice president to better coordinate activities related to the customer experience. Approved by the company’s Board of Directors on May 16, 2017, these changes will be effective June 1, 2017.
Vectren’s vice president of customer experience, Dan Bugher, will be promoted to senior vice president of customer experience where he retains his current oversight of Vectren’s contact center and revenue management teams and also assumes oversight of marketing and communications, information technology, and industrial sales and economic development. The organizational shift effectively aligns all the departments that primarily touch Vectren’s utility customers, whether through technology enhancements or directly through services and programs. Bugher will begin reporting directly to Rick Schach, Vectren’s executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Jim Francis, vice president of safety and system integrity, will assume the role of vice president of human resources, and Ellis Redd, current vice president of human resources, will assume the vice president of safety and system integrity position. Francis will report to Schach, and Redd will report to Jon Luttrell, senior vice president of utility operations and president of Vectren Utility Holdings, Inc.
Misty Seaton, vice president, controller and assistant treasurer, will transition into the vice president of corporate audit role. She takes over that responsibility from Patrick Edwards who previously had moved to the vice president and treasurer position. These rotations allow David Bowler, director of corporate services, systems management and reporting, to be promoted to vice president, controller and assistant treasurer to assume oversight of the company’s accounting functions. Seaton will report directly to the Audit and Risk Management Committee Chair of the Board of Directors with a dotted line to Ron Christian, executive vice president and chief legal and external affairs officer. Edwards and Bowler will report to Susan Hardwick, executive vice president and chief financial officer.
The vice president of customer energy solutions, Robbie Sears, will become vice president of energy solutions and planning, where he will continue to report to Schach and focus on revenue and growth opportunities and technology innovation execution and assume oversight of strategic planning functions for Vectren’s utilities.
“These changes ensure the continued development of our management team to effectively prepare our company for continued growth and success, including vice presidential rotation opportunities that broaden these individuals’ business acumen and operations experience,†said Chapman. “Likewise, the promotions in our utility operations group ensure we remain focused on improving our customers’ experiences at every touch point.â€
