STATEHOUSE (Dec. 9, 2021) – Local House Republican lawmakers invite constituents to complete the 2022 issue survey to provide feedback ahead of the legislative session starting Jan. 4.

While Vanderburgh County residents will receive mail on how to complete the survey, they can started today by visiting their member’s website and then clicking on the red “Take My Survey” button at one of the following links:

  • State Rep. Matt Hostettler (R-Patoka) at in.gov/h64;
  • State Rep. Wendy McNamara (R-Evansville) at in.gov/h76; or
  • State Rep. Tim O’Brien (R-Evansville) at in.gov/h78.

“In addition to calls, emails and in-person events, surveys are another helpful way to gauge feedback on important issues and proposed legislation,” McNamara said. “I encourage Hoosiers to answer the survey questions and share additional comments and input.”

To complete a member’s survey, constituents must be a resident of the district and submit it by the Dec. 31 deadline. The survey questions are intended to reflect issues that may come before the Legislature and should not be interpreted as a reflection of their legislator’s views.

Constituents can determine and confirm who their state representative is online by visiting the Indiana General Assembly’s website atiga.in.gov, clicking on the “Find Your Legislator” tab and entering their home address. Constituents can then visitindianahouserepublicans.com/members and view their member’s webpage to take the survey.

O’Brien said the public can participate in the legislative process by completing the survey, testifying in committee and staying connected with their state legislator. Constituents can visit iga.in.gov to watch livestreams of session and committee meetings, view archived meetings, and access meeting calendars and meeting agendas.

“Everyone can watch session hearings and committee meetings online, and they can be viewed live or at a later date,” O’Brien said. “Hoosiers can also come to the Statehouse and testify or attend a hearing. If you do plan a visit to Indianapolis during session, please reach out to me, or if you need help navigating the Indiana General Assembly’s website, I’m always here to help.”

“Communication is key to good government,” Hostettler said. “While I rely on feedback from constituents, I also want to keep those I represent at the Statehouse informed on what is going on around the state and in our community. My email newsletters are a great way for us to stay connected.”

Constituents can contact Hostettler at h64@iga.in.gov, McNamara at h76@iga.in.gov and O’Brien at h78@iga.in.gov with questions and comments, or by calling 1-800-382-9841. Hoosiers can also sign up to receive regular email news updates by visiting their member’s webpage and entering their email address.

The 2022 legislative session begins in January and must conclude by mid-March.
