The Indiana Lawyer
June 25, 2018
A transfer would be a major shift for Valparaiso Law School. The law school, which opened in 1879, is currently part of a private Lutheran university with about 4,000 students, but joining MTSU would make it part of a state-supported institution that has an enrollment of nearly 20,000.
In 1923 the KKK tried to buy Valpo. It caused such a stir, the college had to publicly denounce the KKK, a risk in a time when the KKK was very influencial in INdiana. Now, the law school is heading to the birthplace of the KKK, Tennessee. The irony.
My son in law and daughter both graduated from the law school and loved it. Hard to exist between two powerhouses like IU and Chicago.
