USI Women’s Runners dominate Brescia Invitational

OWENSBORO, Ky.–University of Southern Indiana Women’s Cross Country had six runners finish in the top 11 and seven in the top 17 as the No. 15 Screaming Eagles rolled to a first-place finish out of 12 teams at the Brescia Invitational Friday evening.

Sophomore Karlee Hoffman (Owensboro, Kentucky) finished third with a five-kilometer time of 19:09.60 to lead a trio of Eagles that placed in the top five. Senior Doriane Langlois (Stains, France) was fourth with a time of 19:11.10, while junior Presley Warren (Henderson, Kentucky) was fifth with a time of 19:18.70.

As a team, the Eagles finished with 28 points, nearly 50 ahead of Thomas More University and 51 ahead of Austin Peay State University.

Freshman Katelyn Ahart (Owensboro, Kentucky) and sophomore Aubrey Swart (Noblesville, Indiana) were eighth and 10th, respectively, to round out USI’s top five. Freshmen Kati Hoerig (Prospect, Kentucky) and Mallory Wittmer (Evansville, Indiana) were 11th and 17th, respectively, to round out USI’s top seven competitors.

The remainder of USI’s squad returns to action Saturday at 8:30 a.m. when it competes at the UAH Chargers Invitational at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama.
