USI to host Evansville Mayoral Debate October 18 in USI Performance Center

The University of Southern Indiana will host an Evansville Mayoral Debate, presented by WNIN Public Media, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 18 in the USI Performance Center on campus. The debate will feature the three Evansville mayoral candidates: Republican Natalie Rascher, Democrat Stephanie Terry and Libertarian Michael Daugherty. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., and guests are asked to be seated by 6:45 p.m.

The debate, moderated by John Gibson, WNIN News Manager, Producer and local Morning Edition Host, will be broadcast on 9.1 WNIN PBS member television station, NPR member station WNIN FM 88.3 and live streamed on wnin.org in front of a live audience. The event is open to students, faculty, staff and the public. No tickets are required; however, seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Overflow seating with live streaming will be available in University Center East Rooms 2217-18.

Hosting for the debate is being organized by the University in collaboration with the USI Political Science, Public Administration and Philosophy Department.

Media will be invited to attend a press conference with candidates following the debate.

Evansville residents will cast their votes for Mayor during the November 7 local election.
