USI Women’s Basketball will face off against the University of Arkansas at Little Rock at 5 p.m. Thursday, January 9 in the Screaming Eagles Arena. Students and fans are encouraged to wear white in support of the whiteout theme.

USI Men’s Basketball vs. University of Arkansas at Little Rock – ESPNU coverage
USI Men’s Basketball will compete against the University of Arkansas at Little Rock at 8 p.m. Thursday, January 9 in the Screaming Eagles Arena. The matchup will also be televised live via ESPNU. Students and fans are encouraged to wear white in support of the whiteout theme.

Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker to keynote 2023 USI Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration
USI will host a presentation by Keith Beauchamp, Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker, honoring the memory and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as part of USI’s annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Celebration at 11 a.m. Monday, January 16 in Carter Hall, located in University Center East. Doors will open at 10:15 a.m. The presentation is open to the public.

Virtual faculty presentation to analyze new Cold War nostalgia in film
The USI College of Liberal Arts will host its first Faculty Colloquium presentation of the Spring Semester, “The New Cold War in US Film: From Rocky to Creed and Comrade Detective,†presented by Dr. Oana Popescu-Sandu, Associate Professor of English, at 3 p.m. Friday, January 20 in Kleymeyer Hall, located in the lower level of the Liberal Arts Center.

USI didactic training to focus on care of sexual assault victims
To increase the number of sexual assault nurse examiners throughout Indiana, the USI College of Nursing and Health Professions, in collaboration with Southwest Indiana Area Health Education Center, is offering an Adult/Adolescent/Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) course. A required online self-study for nurses will be held February 1 through March 3, and the on-site training is scheduled for March 6-10 at the Health Professions Center on the USI campus.
