DAYTON, Ohio – University of Southern Indiana Men’s Tennis (1-2) ended its weekend road swing with a 4-0 loss to the University of Dayton (3-2) Sunday morning at the South Regency Tennis Center. The Screaming Eagles went 1-2 in the season-opening weekend including a sweep in Saturday’s victory.

Doubles: USI struggled in doubles competition with freshman Eytan Michaeli (Beer Sheva, Israel)/junior Guy Finkelstein (Lehavim, Israel) duo dropping 6-1 at number three and senior Dylan Brown (Evansville, Indiana)/junior Quinten Gillespie (Whiteland, Indiana) combination fell 6-3 at number two. With the Flyers’ success in flights two and three, doubles number one went unfinished.

Singles: Only three singles matches were completed before Dayton stole the match victory. At number five, Finkelstein dropped 6-0, 6-1 before junior Blake Deaton (Indianapolis, Indiana) faltered at number six with a 6-1, 6-1 loss and sophomore Axel Sabourin (Marseille, France) ended the day with a 6-0, 6-2 decision at number one. Flights two, three, and four went unfinished during the second set.
