The University of Southern Indiana College of Liberal Arts will begin its Global Salon Series Friday, September 22 with Paul Bouseman, Deputy Director of Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden. On Monday, September 25, the Series continues with a presentation by Dr. Denise Lynn, Professor of History. Both presentations will take place in Kleymeyer Hall, located in the lower level of the Liberal Arts Center and are open to the public at no charge.

At noon Friday, September 22, Bouseman will discuss the modern zoo’s role in conservation. He has been a long-term employee of Mesker Park Zoo in Evansville and became the Deputy Director in September 2018.

At 10 a.m. Monday, September 25, Lynn will give a presentation on the anti-Korean War movement and how women played a pivotal role. She joined USI in 2018 as an Associate Professor of History and also serves as Director of the Africana Studies Program and Gender Studies.

The Global Salon Series, founded in 2011, focuses on current global issues and offers students and the community a deeper understanding of international and global issues. The Series features three to four lectures per semester, highlighting the research of USI faculty and community figures.
