ORLANDO, Fla.—University of Southern Indiana Cheer posted a fifth-place finish in the finals of the Open Cheer Small Coed Division competition at the UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship Saturday afternoon at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex.
The Screaming Eagles finished with a final event score of 83.2 in the finals after placing fourth in the semifinal round with a final event score of 86.05.
Under the direction of third-year Head Coach Megan Murphy, USI had 18 student-athletes competing on the mat Saturday and had to finish in the top six of the semifinals to qualify for the finals.
The Eagles finished fourth a year ago when they competed virtually. They finished fifth in the Small Coed Division competition in 2020.
