EVANSVILLE, Ind.-Â University of Southern Indiana Men’s Golf shot a final round of 304 to finish 13th of 17 teams at the Murray State Invitational in Murray, Kentucky Tuesday.
The Screaming Eagles finished the first two rounds of the season with a 300 and 299 respectively. This gave USI a 54-hole cumulative score of 903.
Sophomore Zach Williams (Mount Vernon, Illinois) finished T-20 in the 95-player field leading the way for the Eagles after carding a three-over-par 73 in the final round. He opened the weekend with a one-under-par 70 Sunday and another 73 Monday. Williams finished with a three-day total of 216 (+3).
Senior teammate K.O. Taylor (Madisonville, Kentucky) finished 55th with a 54-hole mark of 226 (+13) with his low round of the tournament coming on Monday’s four-over-par 74.
Murray State (830/-22) UT – Martin (834/-18) Southern Illinois (836/-16) nabbed the top three spots while Southern Illinois (B) (869/+17) and Tennessee State U. (871/+19) rounded out the top five.
USI will look ahead to their next tournament, the Doc Spragg Fall Invitational held in Findlay, Ohio on Sep. 23-24.
