University of Southern Indiana’s Women’s Cross Country picked up a huge victory over the Indianapolis Greyhounds and Lewis Flyers in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Triangular.
USI won the meet by a narrow margin needing every point as they accumulated 32 team points to UIndy’s 35 again proving like the men’s race the competition was quite fierce today.
USI was led by senior Jennifer Comastri who distanced herself from almost all the field of the field on her way to a second-place finish and a time of 18 minutes and six seconds. Freshman Allison Morphew made a nice splash for her first run as a Screaming Eagle posting a fourth-place finish, clocking in at 19:19.2.
The Eagles had two others add top ten finishes. Sophomore Adele Schnautz and Megan Wagler crossed the line in sixth and ninth, respectively.
Last, sophomore Aubrey Swart marked the final tally for USI as she came in just outside the top-ten in 11th place.
